Yally what does sry mean, I am not hip to de slang on de computer. Am beginning to think it's all about football with some folks. Some call the football team the New Jersey Giants around here...I mean let me have a million bucks too and I could race out on the field (my astral being at least) and you could call me Astral Giant Joan.  I missed one of my antibiotics and let me tell ya there was pain. All I know is gotta get two scripts filled and it looks like an ice hockey rink around here. Peace

Moanin everyone,

We all seem to be in so much pain these days.  I know I can't wait to feel the warm summer heat again.
Where is everyone?  It's been so quiet.  sad
Erin, hope your ok.  You we're the first one to answer my first post, your stength in coping with all you've been through is what gave me strength those first few weeks.
Yally hang in there until you can start your meds.
Joan, how are you.  hope your having more pain-free days.  If you have the chance, go to the chronic pain forum, there is a member, sbar is the name I believe, he is having some painful chronic pain from the shingles.  I'm sure he would love to hear any advice you could give him
Hope everyone is doing well.  Come back soon..

Hi all,
Yes, it sure has been quiet...haven't had a chance to post, was a really busy weekend, and am paying dearly for it now.  We moved my mom on Saturday...heavy, heavy furniture, and my body has been screaming at me ever since.  It's either payback, or the lack of meds, not sure which..but every joint seems to hurt and burn sad   Guess I forgot what a real flare feels like, no fun. Have five children three days this week, which isn't helping much either.  But see the doc on Monday, and maybe I'll get back on the good drugs again lol.
Oh Joan, you reminded me of Kahlua! One of my favorites, used to make my own as Christmas gifts, need to pull that out before I start back on the mtx.  Thank you!! (it's also great in hot cocoa) How are you doing, by the way?  Feeling better I hope?
How the kids, Raven?  I saw you posted about one of yours being into racing?  That must be exciting for him, and scary for you! Is that the kind that they do here in the St Petersburg Gran Prix, or the race in Sebring? Our family loves racing, but the NASCAR type, they can't wait for Daytona trying to get tickets.
Yeah Ducky..the days are winding down, I'm so happy for you and the kids, going to e-mail you later, things have been crazy here.  So glad you heard from Erin, we've all been worried about her, that's for sure. Hugs to you Erin, if you read this,  know how much you are missed!
Yally, how's it being back at work?  Do you get to go back on the meds pretty soon?  Maybe we'll have a enbrel party together lol.  Hey what did you think about the House episode?? Your favorite girl is back!
Mom, how are you??  Did you start the enbrel yet?  Please let us know how it goes. Thinking about you and your kids, hoping things are settling down.
Boo, how are things your way?  Looked like some bad storms headed in your direction...miss you dear lady!
Well, getting a call from one of the bedrooms, seems naptime is just about over.
Hugs to anyone I missed,  have a good evening all.
Love,
Jody

Hi all,

Jody,  we like Nascar as well and my son hopes that his he will eventually lead to Nascar but he is still a few levels below that.  We are looking at tickets for either Martinsville or Bristol in March, I thing Bristol may be sold out.

Hope all is well

Scary night last night,  hope everyone is ok! All those storms that went through the south hit right near my son's place in Memphis. Thankfully he's ok, but doesn't care to go through anything like that again, he didn't think the tornado sirens were ever going to go off.  Boo, did they hit your area too?  Haven't heard any mention of OK on the news as of yet , but looks like they are headed toward Ducky now.  Stay safe!  Looks like we'll get  some rain from them tonight and tomorrow, but no serious stuff from what they are saying.

Raven, we have only been to races here at Daytona, but hubby always wanted to go to a race at Bristol, he loves the races at that track.  How old is your son that races?  I'm sure you posted that before, but I forgot. My brother-in-law races sprint cars, been doing that for a few years now, he sure puts a lot of time into it, but it's just a hobby for him.

Little one crying for her bottle, gotta go.

Hugs to all

Jody,

It's great to hear from you! I'm glad that your son is okay and those storms can be terrifying! Here it is just COLD with a bit of snow here and there. I'm waiting to begin the Enbrel and went for a TB test on Monday and will go back tomorrow for the reading of that. However, right now I have a cold and just feel run down so I hope that will not interfere with the first shot that I get at the office.

I read that you are not feeling well and are now in a flare..when do you get back on your meds? Are you feeling better today? When do you go back to the doctor?

I'm really starting to get scared to take the Enbrel especially with the MTX?????? since the MTX suppresses the immune system and so does the Enbrel? How do you keep from getting sick or getting infections? Did anyone else have this concern?? Do you have to take the two together?

I'm not sure who posted about having a tooth infection??? but the same thing happened to me when a filling came out, and I was going to ask you if you are on MTX?? but I came down with the worst infection and it took two different antibiotics to get rid of it, and the pain was horrid! It was as if the infection cropped up overnight since I had been to the dentist a few days prior and nothing was there.

Will try to catch up more later

The weather is fine and the bear comes out of hibernation toperuse the threads and posts - actually I have been reading the posts but haven't had the time/finger dexterity to post. I'm sorry to read of everybody's illnesses and pain. particularly Joan. Hang on in there Joan and the fine weather will come around soon and the sun will soothe your pain I am sure. Peace on.

Yally, how goes life post op? Ducky you got the fizz on ice ready for the homecoming? Planning a party? Erin, hope you are well and will be posting agaain soon. Boo how are you? Sorry, I owe you mail and I hope that your judgement prooves good. Camama and babyplace how';ss lifie with the work and the kids?

I been busy,  stressed out and supporting a fellow pwp who is in an abusive relationship and not getting  much help. I now am in debt to the tune of over half a million dolllars iin mortgages but what the hell   it now means that the move to a bigger cave will happen in two weeks time. I go back to work finally next Thursday and go to see my new neurologist and get the results of  my MRI scan and blood tests and then I will know for sure as sure is whether or not I have pd or possibly something else more benign/mailign we shall see what we shall see.

I wrote the shortest play ever with opening line - "Enter Godot".

Going back to work willl be strange but I am hoping to take early retirement at the end of the year and I have to start the moves like now to get it sorted in time. Whether I can afford to retire is another matter entirely but momma bear will have to work full time. Handre hurting and nonresponsive now si will say

stay well everybody

Momto3,
You raise a good point about wiping out our immune systems-
I'm not even on the strongest combo of drugs just plaquinel and 5mg prednisone and I just developed an upper respritory infection while on an antibiotic for a sinus infection.
On the other hand the combo of Enbril and methotextrate has been so effective for some people that it might just be worth it.

Thought I'd better check in.  I'm still alive and kicking.

Hanging in here although I feel like I'm on trial.

Weather here keeps changing and the aches and pains come with it.  Fell in the bathtub Sunday.  Mobility getting more and more limited as time goes on.  Have a nice, big, fat knee now.  Ain't it the pits?

Hi SJ..thanks for the post about the Enbrel...I'm on the fence about it and I think tomorrow will be the first injection since I don't have any signs of TB, but I worry about the run down feeling I have since I have a cold but I guess the nurse will know what to do about that!

sj- hi and so glad your posting on moanin! tongue   yep we need to wipe out our immune systems or atleast decrease them cuz they are misbehaving! nono   mine never really was doing its job anyways even before i went on my drugs i was sick all the time.  i think my immune system sees a cold and runs to my synovium! lol  i am wierd as since i am on all my immunosuppresant drugs i have not had many colds anymore.  also some warts i had for over 30 years went away as soon as i went on the drugs.  crazy but true for me!  and i went to atleast a dozen different docs to get rid of those warts and they never left til i went on mtx! so go figure?

camama and erin shout outs to both of you. and of course i never forget my elcamino.  i miss ya.

me if you get this far in this long post, lol  i had some so so news yesterday...... had my annual run of a million xrays of almost evry joint and found out that my cervical spine is real bad with C4,5,6,and 7 involvement.  some pretty bad sounding from what i understood from the radiologist- but i need to talk to the rhuemmy one on one to truely understand whats up.  i also found out the synovium in my left knee esp is almost gone on the one side and not great in the right knee.  it showed fluid on the knee too.  i told the doc it onl hurts real bad if i kneel so i just dont kneel!  got ome spurs too in my feet but nothing i cant deal with- so it seems since my last series i have some areas with significant changes .  going to find out what that means to my future and meds i guess?  i wont jump to too many conclusions as some of the talk esp. my neck was a bit above my comprehension.  i will get the lay terms soon.  i go the 18th to the doc.  and go back on meds whoohoo!!!!! tongue

well that is all my news- doing good back to full swing at work now and handling it ok.  i think we are allso use to pain that we just deal with it.  i hurt and i think yea so what i ahve hurt forever it seems.  well hands screaming from this long post so tata  hugs to all

Yally, so good to hear from you! I'm glad you have recovered from your surgery but it looks like a visit to your rheumy is in order? when do you go to see him/her? Also when can you get back on your meds? You sounded like the perky yally we know and love so well on here, it is nice to see :)

As for the Enbrel, I have all of my information and it looks like Enbrel will give so many weeks free and then some kind of discount and then another company is waiting for me to contact them so they can deliver my order...it gets a bit confusing! However, we decided to wait until I get my prescription and then I will start since I have a sore throat and just not feeling that well. I have heard good things about the Enbrel and I am terrified of the auto injector but I'm going to have to do it anyway.

Boo...I meant to post to you yesterday about your fall..that happened to me just before New Years, and it wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I really felt it! When I went in for the bursitis and they x-rayed my chest, I had fractured a rib from my fall. I hope you are okay! I felt fine right after the fact and didn't have any bruises but a few weeks later...ouch!

Is it Friday yet?????

dear bear ... ain't this just a confusing mess ...

woke up with the shingles pain two or three nights ago

and now am drowsy from lyrica ... of all people my allergist

decided to follow up on me ... went for blood test today on

shingles and also had a a dtp (diptheria/tenus/perkussis (whooping cough)

first shot and will get another shot and a booster shot too.

Thank God/Godess because shingles has not been a FUN experience.

My advice to you would be to worry more about your health

than the money trip...after all they can't dig you up for it.

Am doing some mental writing but can't handle that either...Lyrica

medicine is making me very drowsy. (am on my second relapse now)

So long for now, Bear

Happy Friday all!!

Yes, Mom it is officially Friday...yeah!  Very hectic week, you wouldn't thik that going from four kids to five would make that much of a difference.  Afterall what's one more, right?  Wrong.  They all run in opposite directions at the same time.  Guess I'll really get my exercise now!  This is going to take some adjustments.  Plus four out of the five are teething, so poor things are hurting, too.  Ended up with all of them four full days this week, looks like at least that next week too.  Sort of went from the frying pan ito the fire haha.  But, we'll get used to it eventually. Hope everyone is feeling better today, so many aches and pains, we're quite a bunch, aren't we?  Gosh, things just HAVE to get better for us all, don't they?

dear yally, lumi, back to you!  I'm so sorry about the report...praying the doc will have some encouraging words and treatment options for you when you see him.  Do you think some of this could be because you had to go off the meds for a while? You know we are all here for you.  Boo, are you ok?  How's the knee?  Better Ihope, that must of been scary as well as painful. Bear, best of luck with the move and the tests.  I just hate having to wait for test results, wish they would tell me what's going on and get it over with...seems they make you wait forever!  Mom, how long before you think you'll start the enbrel?  I'm on that same program you are with the company, confusing, but didn't take them long at all to get all the insurance stuff straightened out and get my first shipment to me.  Finally finished the antibiotics yesterday, go to the doc Monday morning, then will see what comes next.  Hope to hear about the CAT scan finally, and be able to start back up on the meds.  Joan, so sorry that the shingles pain returned!!  How long have you been fighting this?  Seems like a long, long time. Was watching the weather this morning and it looked like you New York people were in for a very cold snowy day...stay warm!

Looks like we still have things to move for my mom this weekend. Plus have to get her place all cleaned up and ready to sell....will be sore again come Monday, but there's alot to do.

Everyone have a good night, hugs to you all

Finally!  A non-working weekend.  Just a cup of coffee and my computer.  Yeah!

Things going very well the last few days.  Ironic that there has been a lot of debris clearing after the ice storms and we are doing the same, the hubby and I.  Some things just need to be bundled up and thrown away.  A very good job we are doing and moving on.

Thanks for the concern on the fall.  I'm sure it will be the first of many to come.  Not sore anymore, but it sure bruises my pride.

There seems to be so much humidity in Oklahoma no matter the time of year.  My fingers have not given me a break in weeks.  I took my wedding rings to be sized again (haven't worn them in 8 years).  I had one finger left that wasn't twisted and gnarled, my ring finger.  Now it's growing.  I asked the guy how many times he could stretch them.  He just laughed.  Great man and he's used to having to do this for some of his customers with arthritis who won't give up their jewels.  Very compassionate.

I'm going to have a fantastic weekend and hope my Friends do the same!  Boo
