Hey Ducky - SO glad your hubby is home! YEAH!

Yalinda, being the statue STINKS. I hope things are better. I don't know if chocoloate is bad for the joints - but it is as a secondary recation: I eat too much, I gain more weight, my joints scream louder! sad   But it tastes SO GOOD! tongue

Son is crying.....

Chocolate is very good for reducing pain...the idea is not to have too much of it. (who am I kidding?)

GUESS what!!! When I went to the dentist on Thursday I had a thought. Why not get a novacain shot in my back where my freakey shingles pain is? Well I called today and there is a pain management group here who will give me a lidocain shot for my post shingles pain. I am hopeful about this.

Ya gotta have hope
mustn't sit around and mope
it helps to be a genius of course
but keep the old horse before the cart
and ya have ta have heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yally...thank goodness you can still eat chocolate!! I like to eat it every now and then myself! I'm relieved to hear it is not off limits, because I would end up eating it anyway:)

Boo...It sounds like you had a romantic Valentine's Day? I'm happy to hear that! If anyone deserves it, it is YOU!

Not much to report,it is a Monday and I still have a cold that seems to be in my chest and it burns when I cough...and I am really starting to think about stopping the MTX as it seems I have had some really bad infections while on it.  That and it just makes my cycles so horrid, it is now day 45 and I'm still suffering in misery.  Sorry for so much TMI especially for the fellas who are reading this! Anway! It just started with a cough and now this, and I really want to call my nurse and schedule an appointment but I wonder when that will happen.  Other than that the temperature is in the 50's today so that is GOOD thing!

Ducky..I know you are doing well and fattening the hubby :)

I will babble and whine more later!

Moanin everyone,

Everybody seems to be getting sooo...... sick this winter.  Hope it passes soon. I think I already posted this  but posting again because I am getting really frustrated. I saw a pain management Doctor last week.  Says he can't treat my pain, it is too widespread and he only basically uses Botox for pain relief.  He is sending me for an MRI on my spine but I'm not too sure why.

I saw my regular MD for refills on oxy today and he really frustrates me.  I feel like he is saying "ok, this is what you have, these are the pills you have to take, not sure if it will get better or worse but should get better."

No advice on different things to try, exercises to do nothing.  Just basically put on your big girl panties and deal with itHe never even checks my BP or Blood sugar and I've been hypertensive and diabetic for years.  Never asks how are you feeling or if things are getting better.  Do I expect too much?  I guess I just feel like my life is in limbo.  I try everyday to not think about it and go about my daily routine but I have not been able to work in almost a year due to pain issues not being under control, and the pain is there.  Can anyone offer advice on how to just get passed this???

Thanks for letting me vent,

Raven

Raven,
What is wrong with your doctor? Has he got a degenerative personality disorder, alzheimers or just jerk syndrome? Can you get a new one?
I'm sorry you're in pain and not feeling well. I hope you do better soon.

I would switch doctors...on a temporary basis.

In this neck of the woods...they love the first consultation. That is in depth
or something and they make more money.

Since he is giving you what you need in terms of pain medicine I would not
get rid of him until you find somebody better.

Can't you see an endocronoldist (spelling) (diabetic specialist) on your plan?
Doesn't he have a nurse or an assistant to take your blood pressure?

I am so sorry you are having so many problems. confused confused confused sad sad sad

Raven...What is it with doctors? I called my regular oby-gyn and could not get in until March and that was fine, decided to go to regualur primary care office for help with cycle pain..forget it!!!! I asked for a prescription of provera and she hemmed and hawwed and wanted my medical records from my ob-gyn's office FIRST! It was ridiculous! I spent an entire hour there today and she then said she would call me....nothing for pain, that was that! After I arrived home there was a message from the nurse at ob-gyn's office to call, it turns out primary care doctor passed me back over, but at least I got a prescription.  This is the same primary care doctor that my husband took my daughter to yesterday for a peristant cough, and was there for an hour and finally she prescribed some cough medicine.

Oxy as in oxycontin? it doesn't help with your pain? I'm really sorry to hear you hurt so terribly!

and bear you remembered us on hump day ..... how sweet! have fun packin!~

raven ...... find another doc!!!!! you owe him nothing!!!!!!!! sounds like he is bored with his job and is missing the important stuff...... maybe ask a friend about there doc? do you see a rhuemmy too? not certain how it all works in the great canada - i sometimes hear it takes years to get to a specialist on a list? not certain if that is true but if so can you get a flare while visiting in the states and have to go to our faciity????? lol would canada cover your consult then???? just a thought??????? how is your sugar too???? you under 110 i hope??
well i know it is easier for us all to say get a new doc then it is to find and trust one, but yours does sound like a doozy!

me i am still hanging in there........ got a ticky yesterday in some small hick town that needs a new swing set or something...... lol sorry to all of you livin in small towns........ i swore the speed was 55 in the wilderness with no houses or anything but nope it was not and the nice man in the flat brim hat and suit to whom i payhis saleray with my high state taxes informed me of my error! so i finally got my monies worth for his employment lol again just joking forgive my house sarcaism........ but the nice man reduced it to not wearing a seat belt which i WAS wearing! but this was his way of being nice. i think being nice would have been not to give me a ticky! dang cop thought cuz my car was sporty i was a kid probably....... wasnt he shocked not to find a sexy blonde behind the wheel! lol

oh! ....and the bottom of my car feel out in a deep snow patch yesterday ugh and my car stereo stopped working also yesterday so even though i love my sporty little celica it is on my bad list right now!

hugs yally

Good for you yally...did the sweet talk...I didn't but went to court where it was reduced. O in Brooklyn... it was thrown out completely. It is snowing a lot today.

What is it with doctors at this point? Now I hate to sound unpatriotic but they lowered the medicare repayment and I am really worried some of my docs will want to drop me. Why do I have such a total lack of confidence in myself????????

On the upside received a card from a MALE airline employee and also from my old typesetting buddy from the old days in NYC. :-) :-) :-)

Yally..You hot mama you! I hear you though, we live in a small town and we have warned friends and family members when coming to visit to go under the speed limit so they won't get pulled over.  Honestly I think the ones here just  don't have anything better to do!

Joan...I don't know too much about medicare but I hope your doctors won't get snippy and let you go! But I know they get funny when it comes to money! I went in to my gyn yesterday for labs and because I didn't get my new insurance card until Feb, and they had billed the old one in Jan, told me they might not be able to bill my last stuff on the new card because it was past 30 days (by 3 days) even though its the same inurance company, and policy. Sometimes they just want to be dificult!

Jody????????? Are you okay? Have not heard from you for a bit, I hope you are doing well.  Please post soon.

I just want to say...I am so thankful it is FRIDAY!!

I'm here! I'm here! Just trying to stay healthy. Minor compliants, and a few worries, but trying to get my rest, stay relaxed, and do what I can to gain some control. I am supposed to have the house to myself until tomorrow late-day. I'm trying to motivate myself to get some work done around here and I'm sick and tired of the mess. Enough is enough and I have no one to care for for at least 24 more hours, I'm NOT sick, and NOT in too much pain to get some things done....so I need to get crackin. I am tired, but I think once I get moving, I'll be okay. I'll kick myself for months for not using this time wisely. I've enjoyed some "it's only me" veg time....now it's time to get to work.

It's been raining, clear today, but more storms tonight....been taking my meds plus mega-motrin to help ward off too much pain.

Take care everyone. ****

Oh, I hope I hope I hope Yalinda the pain will continue to go away!

It does sound like a water pill! tongue   But, hey, any water pill that helps the shoulders and hips (or any joints for that matter!) feell better while it's working - is a pill I won't mind taking! Ha ha.

I'm around-I'm doing great. I spent the weekend going through my closets searching for clothes I can still wear-not finding many so I got to go shopping! I'm enjoying my prednisone induced health and energy and debating wether to tell my Rhuemy that its time to wean off.
Yally I hope your pain goes away quickly-I peed a million times the first twenty four hours I was on pred too.
Ducky-enjoy your getaway.
Everyone else enjoy your weekend.
