Today I gave myself my Enbrel and afterwards when pulling the  needle out there was a pool of blood (sorry if tmi) and it took a bit for it to stop.  The needle went right in and it seemed like any other time but now I'm not sure since I have never had this happen.

Has this happened to anyone else????

Thanks in advance

Hey mom,

How are you doing???  Been a little hectic here, and just found a minute to respond to your post.  yes, have had this happen to me too, once or twice.  Didn't really think much of it, just figured I hit a capillary or something.  I just applied a slight bit of pressure with a cotton ball...but I did have a very pretty bruise there a day or so after.  I didn't want to press too hard on the site, wasn't sure if that would be a good idea since the meds go in right under the skin.  Probably the reason I didn't worry too much about it was because of all the insulin injections, pump sites, etc, we have done on our son.  It hasn't been uncommon for this too happen with him on occaision as well.

Hugs!!

Hi Jody,

Thanks so much! You sound like a pro since you have had to deal with your son and insulin injections. A few times I had a small dot but yesterday..yikes! I think that is what it was and today I have an unsightly bruise with a bump.  Sometimes it is just a hit and miss it seems with the injections, I either get it just right, begin and start over, or have one of the mishaps of yesterday, you just never know tongue At least I will be able to rememeber which leg next week!

Thanks again! :-)

Well, I just stopped taking the MTX and Enbrel about a year ago, and so far I've been pretty healthy. I've given myself plenty of opportunities to have a flair, with all sorts of crashes and injuries, but so far it has been OK.
I don't really expect to be off the drugs for ever, but I'll enjoy it while I can!
