I have a lot of hand issues so I am wondering, can someone have arthritis in just ONE finger joint?  On my pointer finger, the upper most joint (by the fingernail) has been a little red and puffy and it hurts to bend it.  I haven't damaged it.  But I don't know if it can be arthritis or one of my other hand issues (carpal tunnel, trigger finger, tendonitis).  Is it possible?

Yes, one can have arthritis in only one joint. My osteoarthritis in my fingers started in just one joint followed by others joining in the fun about 2 years later.

:) Thanks for the replies. I just feel silly to go to the doc for one little finger joint. I can still type and do things with it, so it's not too bad but I just can't grab onto things tightly or I get a burning "stretching" type pain. I just didn't know if one finger joint could be affected, so thank you :)

I assume this goes for toes too? Yesterday, I suddenly got pain in the knuckle of my left big toe...I never hit it or bumped it...it's weird. Do you know what happened?

Best answer is to go and get checked out by an RA doctor...error on the side of caution...
Mine showed up in three places on my right hand, with the mri...well wishes to you...
