I have posted in here before....
I am 33 years old and mother of 4 boys. One in school, the other at home with me all the time. (two are stepsons that live with their mom)
Recently my boys and hubby have each gone thru a terrible cold.  Achey-ness, runnynose, headache, cough..the whole kit -n- caboodle.  They have generously passed this on to me... sad .
Now on top of RA I am getting hot and cold flashes, more achey than usual which is 99% of time lately anyway.  Plus runny nose ,cough etc. My question is this.... is it normal that you seem to feel 200% worse than everyone else?  I am soooo worn out, could sleep all day and nite.  Being "MOM" i still carry on and look after supper and my family, but if at all possible I would just "die" on the couch until I could get better.
I am stubborn and dont want "sympathy", (understanding would be nice).  But sometimes just feel like yelling " well imagine how your feeling i feel double your illness and pain!!".
Anyway thanx for letting me vent....guess I'll go rest for a bit, before I have to go pick my son up from school.

The immune system is all conected-as it turns on to fight the cold it also reves up its attack on your body. I always feel worse when I get a cold or infection-my joints hurt, my muscles ache so yes I think for us its normal.

Thanks for your response...
I just kinda wanted to be sure I wasnt "over feeling" my regular problems. I am currently in a fight to get new pain meds....and getting frustrated about it. I feel awful, but didnt want to "imagine" part of it being RA making normal cold symptoms worse.
Thanks for the support sjkly!

Sorry you feel so crummy and I hate to say that it is normal, especially if you take the immune suppressant medications sad I hope you feel better soon!

My cold seems to be getting worse....more stuffed up than ever . LOL. My joints arent great either. I'm sure I MUST be close to the 'peak' of the cold soon, so hopefully it will start getting better rather than much worse. Kinda sucks cant tell if my body aches are from the cold or RA... Oh well life goes on I guess. Thanks for the post Ducky.
Its nice to see that others actually KNOW and UNDERSTAND that I'm not making up the "more awful than you" feeling I have.
Thanx to you all for letting me vent in here. It really does help. :)

being sick with a cold or anything else, gets exacerbated with RA.. so it will probably take you longer to get over everything as well.. we completely understand here.. my hubby hurt my feelings the other day when he asked how I was doing, and I said, "I hurt"..(now mind you, I try to not complain much.. if anything, I have maybe told him "I hurt" 5 times since we've been together) 'cause I don't want him or anyone else to think I'm a complainer or I can't handle something.. well, he said, "You always hurt".. that made me angry.. so I said.. "You know what?! I work 10 hours a day, I take care of you, 3 kids, the house and the dog.. I clean, cook, do laundry, run errands, take kids to practices, grocery shop, put away the groceries, walk the dog, go over homework and if there is time for me do something for me... and NEVER do I complain about any of it.. regardless of how I feel.. and you have the gall to tell me, 'you always hurt'?!?!" He didn't have much to say after that..

So come here all you want and vent away.. we literally feel your pain!
