Hey Everyone,

I am a newbie to the RA forum. I am a long time ago frequenter of the Crohn's forum.

Anyway, about 5 months ago the knuckles in my fingers began to swell considerably. It is worse in the morning and worse when I walk around outside in the heat. I cannot get my ring anymore. It won't go past my knuckle. The other thin is that my fingers get very red below the knuckles when they are swollen, which is most of the time.  I got a mosquito bite the other day near one of the knuckles and it swelled up so bad that I could not bend the finger for about an hour. Then 2 weeks ago, I woke up one morning and had some serious pain in my right wrist. Here is the best way that I can describe this pain. Do you know when you turn your head to fast and in a wrong way you get a sharp grabbing pain. Well this si the same thing, but just in my wrist. It has gotten so bad that I cannot eat with my right hand anymore. It took 3 months to get an appointment with a Reumatologist and I have my appointment on Monday.

Has anyone here experience similar symptoms? Thanks.

I should probably also add that I had cancer last year with some very low level radiation treatments. Don't know if that contributed to all of this.

Well, you mention having Chron's disease so, its possible this is Chron's arthritis. It is also possible it is RA or AS.
What ever it is the next best step is to see the Rhuematologist and make sure you tell him/her all of your symptoms-even the ones that aren't current.
I hope they are able to get this worked out for you soon.

Well, Rheumatologist is checking for a bunch of things, but says some of the symptoms sound like Reynauds syndrome which apparently runs in my family and possibly Schleroderma.Should have test back in a week or two.
