I am 57 years old, was diagnosed with this in 1997. I feel like no one understands how I feel. The Dr.s had to do a family history check to find out my problem. When I told the Dr. my grandfather was in a wheel chair, I had two aunts that were in a fetal position. When they passed away I don't know how they got them in the casket. Mine started with pain in the buttocks, diarreah, fatigue hip pain , knee pain just a general feeling of being sick. They gave me Mobic, methotrexate, asufaladine. I also have severe scolosis. The Drs. said I had a double whamy!.I don't want to take remicade, but does anyone know what will happen if I don't. Also does anyone beside me have migraine headaches that go along with a flare up? sad

Welcome to HW. Sorry you too are suffering with this.
Has you Rheuny mentioned putting you on Remicade? I know the biologics like Remicade and Humira are scary, Im waiting for approval on Humira and am scared of taking it myself, but am hoping it makes my quality of life better.
I too get savage headaches (not sure if they are migraines) when I am flaring - might be part and parcel with this disease.

Thanks SydneyJo for your feedback on mine and your condition. I'm not sure if my headaches are migraines or not. My head hurts all over, not on one side like a typical migraine. The Dr. prescribed Maxalt for these headaches, it has saved several trips to the emergency room. I  only got my computer last year, really not familiar with how to use this website. But I get so depressed it helps to know I'm not alone with this problem. No one understands unless they have this condition. I wish you luck with your treatment.

My headaches are the same - not sure even if they arent a sinus type as my face will hurt too.
You are doing fine using this site, keep coming back and posting on your progress, its always encouraging/comforting to hear other peoples stories.
