It has been 'iceing' since noon here where I live today.  A few moments ago I went out to help my kids into the house after a daytrip with their grandparents- and fell down all 4 porch steps on my left side and elbow!  Ouch!  After seeing me fly, the kids were very careful going into the house and they are just fine.  I, on the other hand, can feel the bruses forming and my muscles are in knots.
One thing about having arthritis, though- I have enough pain meds to choose from!  My joints wern't even that bad today and I thought I was going to get through the day without pulling out any pain meds.  Now I have to pull some out for a completely diffrent reason.

Question- do you try to avoid using pain meds that were prescriped for RA pain when you have pain caused by other things, or do you use the medicine you have avaliable for pain caused by other reasons too?

I often go to Motrin when I have other pains. Sometimes, if I'm heavy on 'other' meds, I stop or cut back on my regular arthritis meds.

I hope you don't hurt too bad from the fall. Hopefully, you can get a nice and warm good night's sleep and will feel okay in the a.m.

Ouch - you poor thing. I would take any painkiller I could if I were you - you dont need that added pain. I hope it doesnt hurt you too badly.

My hands hurt real bad this am. Haven't even gotten out of bed yet- just more than regular AM stiffness. Took a MO last night (800) and will grab another as I climb out of bed. I hope that kicks it. Next step brings me the choice of Tylonal or Vicodin. Can't take one if I am going to take the other. We'll see what getting out of bed brings.

Can you wrap the wrists and hands - or anywhere else that hit? That may help also. Do you have any rub you can put as well - bengay, icyhot, or even an anti-inflammatory like Voltaren gel? (probably have to wear gloves though)

I fell a year ago stepping in to the garage...still have a bump on my knee from it. I felt like I was hit by a mac truck for about a week. I can completely empathize with you - feel better soon.

Hi Christina, how are you now? I have been busy and haven't been posting as much. I really hope you're ok.

Sometimes a trauma like a fall can set off a flare, so watch yourself, take it easy, best wishes, golitho
