Hello everyone,
I am new here.
I am 22 yrs old, (in the UK) and was diagnosed with RA just over a year ago. It came on very fast, but I have never been positive for Rheumatoid Factor or ANA.
I was on prednisolone from April09 until 2 weeks ago. Still waiting for my moon face to subside, but it's still there. My partner and I are having an engagement party in 1 week and know there will be photo's, I managed to avoid them mostly during Christmas, but don't think I'll be able to this time!! How much longer will it take? what can I do to help it go down? It's humiliating, my twin sister is very pretty, and  liek to think we used to be quite similar, but now I look like a really puffy version of her. I hate it!
Also - does anyone have any experience in with breastfeeding and RA - for example what mediction you were allowed to take? My consultant is at the end of her tether with me as my son won't give up breatfeeding so she can't give me mtx. Also, is it true the symptoms of RA reduce once you have stopped breastfeeding?
Thanks,
Emma

Hi Emma and welcome to HW and the RA forumsmilewinkgrin

The pred puffiness is said to go away within a month after stopping the pred (Im not sure as I have been on it for 7 years straight this yeareyes )
Congratulations on your baby boysmilewinkgrin  - its sad you are being pressured to give up breastfeeding - but I guess your doctor has your wellbeing in mind.
Not sure about your symptoms receding after you give up feeding - who knows - would be nice for you though:-)
Keep posting to let us know how you are going
