hey again!  my previous post got lost so I'm gonna do another intro :)   I am 36 and a single mom of my wonderful daughter who is 12 :)   I work full time at home transcribing.   I was diagnosed officially last year with seronegative RA.  I had fibro-type symptoms for two years before the joint pain started.  I still believe I have had this for many many years but just never had specific complaints until the joint pain started.  I now take methotrexate 2.5 mg 8 pills per week and Arava daily.  Arava was just added a couple of weeks ago.  I also take Lodine for inflammation and vitamin D and calcium along with a multivitamin and Prilosec.  My vitamin D level was low too.  I'm glad to have found you guys :)

Welcome Star!!! Good luck with your treatment, how's it working for you so far? I was diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency as well. My doctor said, they're finding that vitamin D deficiency is becoming the norm and since they are finding out that D has much more value than they originally had thought, doctors are starting to test their patients to see where their levels are at.
This place has been awesome, I hope you enjoy it here's always so good to have an understanding ear and a place to vent where people just *get* it.
Take care.

I'm low in vitamin D too, which means I am on Vit D supplement as well as calcium, magnesium, boron, zinc and fish oil. My rheumy swears by fish oil. I feel like I'm full of capsules half the time! But had my vit levels checked recently and I'm still low despite all the supplements!!! My rheumy told me to take the vit D at night as we absorb it at night. Hope this helps, golitho

Hey Star73,

Glad I didnt scare you away with my blunder of your last postsmilewinkgrin

Welcome to HW and the RA forumsmilewinkgrin

I take MTX too 20mg a week, I find it helps with my RA but not my Crohn's disease.

I hope the Arava added to your meds does the trick for you.

Gee, you are lucky to work from home, jobs like that are as rare as hens teeth in Australia.

Good luck and keep posting (promise not to lose you againsmilewinkgrin )
