hi.i have RA since last a year or so. i had a baby recently(he is about 3 months old) & my RA got worse after that.
i m now taking methrotrexate(once a week 20mg), folic acid,vitamins & calcium tablets & prednisone(10mg).
i was previously taking 30 mg of prednisone which gave me alot of weight gain & a big swollen face.
now that i have reduced my prednisone will i lose weight & will this swollen cheeks become normal someday???

The swollen cheeks is called moonface. Moonface is a common side effect of prednisone usage. As you reduce your prednisone dosage, it should begin to go away. My experience is that the moonface does not start to resolve until I get to 10 mgs a day or lower. My last long term stint on prednisone caused a huge moonface that did not go away until I was completely off the prednisone.

Losing the weight you have gained on prednisone really depends on several things. Some of the weight gain is most likely water retention. How much of the weight is that is difficult to say. Some easily lose the weight they gain on prednisone but others do not. Hopefully caring your for your new baby will keep you active which will help with the weight loss.

Could you be getting your menstrual period soon? That could cause the breast swelling and tenderness. Is there any possibility that you might be pregnant? That too can cause breast changes. I would definitely do a pregnancy test if there is any possibility of that especially before starting new medications.
