Hi
Was diagnosed with RA 3 and a half years ago and possibly AS too.
I have been on methotrexate for 3 years.
I have been ok really on these, other than the odd nausea and fuzzy head feeling.
I am now experiencing weekly episodes of dizziness, stomach ache, sweating...feel like i have a high temp, but i am cold and clammy.
My head feels fuzzy like its full of cotton wool and i cant concentrate, i get more headaches too.
These feelings last from a few hours to a couple of days, and i they seem to start after i have taken my 6 little magic pills!
But i dont know if they are connected.
Other than stopping the pills how else can i find out. My aches and swellings have been a lot better for 3 years, i also havent had a flare of Iritis
which i had 4 episodes of in 1st year of diagnosis.
I should probs go and see my GP, just wondered if anyone else has had same, and ended up coming off this drug!??
Thank you
turn

I have been on MTX for 2 1/2 years and I have not experienced any new side effects. I would definitely mention this to your doctor. Maybe you should keep a log too so you can check and see if it's always after you take your MTX or if anything else could be causing it. I know I would be reluctant to go off the MTX too. My one and only flare came after I had to stop it for 3 weeks due to an infection....I had been thinking maybe I didn't even need MTX anymore- well it was a real wake up call.

In any event you will want your doctor's input so if you do need to go off they can put you on a substitute.
All the best to you.

Wow Debbyftm! Sounds like your really going through it. I too am on mtx (injections) I too would suggest a log. The time and what you eat, drink and meds you take and then the time and exact symptoms you get and then maybe rate the 1 being not so bad 10 being worse ever. You should then seek advice from your GP. Doesn't sound right at all. Are you on or recently been on pred? I feel like this sometimes when i'm on or not long been on pred and it's because it affects my blood sugars. Just an idea. Take care of yourself and keep us posted. Go well X
