My life is crazy right now (ok, it usually is) with kids in camp, renovating a house, moving a piano (NO, NOT ME, LOL) this week.  Will I be able to drive after my anesthesia wears off?  Will walking be uncomfortable??

The cortisone shots aren't bad. I've had them in the knees and was able to work the next day. Tomorrow I go for the
second in a series of 5 hyalgan shots to the knees. Driving a 5 speed after them is a joy...not!! Good luck, the effects
lasting depends on the individual. Mind lasted about 3 weeks.

I am not allowed to drive after the SI injections. The center requires those getting SI injections to bring a driver. The rationale is that the injections can cause numbness in the legs.

I have never had any numbness but am usually so inflamed prior to the injections that I cannot sit up straight to drive. Walking doesn't bother me but everyone reacts differently. Usually I cannot sit prior to the injections and can on the way home.

SI injections work wonders for me. I hope you get great relief!

Well, everything worked out - I got the injection on the right side, and felt really great the next day. It's now been a week and tonight was the first time I felt any twinge of anything on that side. My left SI is so jealous!

I was ready to call the Rheumy and ask for a left side injection, but if I'm only going to get a week of relief, it's not worth it. I think I'll try to take some long exercise walks this wknd and see how things go. It's been so long since I've done any regular exercise.

I did swim laps on Sunday last wknd tho, and while that usually doesn't bother my SI a whole lot, I'm often sore the next day. No soreness this time, at least on the right side!
