I have always had a horrible sweet tooth, lots of processed food and ice cream/baked goods, especially after my twins were born my diet really went downhill! Very much the kind of person who eats when they r stressed out. I'm curious how everyone feels about how much your diet contributed to RA? I guess the reason I'm asking is because i plan on kind of working my way through a few different diets and cleanses, right now I'm sugar free and gluten free because of what I've read about Candida/leaky gut syndrome. I'm not expecting a diet change alone 2 b a magic cure but I hope it helps. Anyway I wanted to hear others experiences with cleanses and juice fasting etc, and if u were able 2 stick to them for a substantial time without cheating lol and if any improvments were seen?
I've also really been researching the emotional root of arthritis, and trying to work on myself emotionally. Just curious if anyone has any experience in that aspect of healing as well. Thanks :)

Hi CMRB,
I have cut out a lot of processed foods - I try to eat fresh produce, which is hard when you just want to tuck into quick packaged food eyes   I cant say that I have seen much difference.
I would give anything a try to put me in remission and a good diet wouldnt hurt anyone.
I fully understand the sweet tooth smilewinkgrin   got one or two of them myself.
Good luck with your endeavour to find a healthier alternative.
Let us know what and how you do it (I could use the tips myself :-) )

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly my thought, I'd do anything to be in remission and at the least by eating properly I will be as healthy as I can, especially while having to take all these drugs :/ In the last few weeks Ive Been basically sugar/gluten and yeast free, not even eating fruit. I have felt better than I have in months, and when I do eat junkfood like this weekend I can definitely feel a difference, although not exactly sure what the culprit is or why. I've heard when ppl fast they feel temporary improvement of their symptoms so I thought that was interesting. That's why I was interested to hear if anyone had done any sort of "extreme" diets or fasting. Anyway just trying to learn as much as I can! Thx again

RA can have a fungus link. Eating the SAD (standard american diet) will continue to feed the fungus. Eliminating processed foods (sugar/yeast/grains), and eating whole, natural foods will cause the fungus to die. Perhaps that is why you are feeling better. An antifungal diet helped me recover 100% from colitis symptoms. Were you ever on antibiotics, live/work in a water damaged/moldy home? Eat a lot of grains? (commonly contaninated with mycotoxins).
