Hello,

I was wondering if RA makes you feel sick, sort of like a virus. That general all over I don't feel good kind of sickness. I was diagnosed with fibro last year. I don't know if it's the fibro or RA. My rheumatoid factor was slightly elevated. I had to go and get a shot of b12 and I saw my md in the office, he said borderline RA.....how can you be borderline??? You either have it or not! My joints hurt, although they don't swell or get red. I'm just so tired of not knowing exactly what I have....but I feel ill. I have a number of symtoms, but they all seem to run together. My RA factor was 24 and normal was 20. My folate is extremely high, and my b12 was below normal. I have to get b12 shots twice a week for 6 weeks. I wonder if being so low in b12 can make me feel so bad. I have had 3 shots so far and feel no different.

Anyone else feel like that with their RA? anyone have fibro along with RA?

Thanks for listening :)
KL

I am sero negative but I was dx'd with RA quickly. Reason being I presented so violently with all joints killing, swelling, symmetrical pain, etc.... It was a horrible experience but now I see it as a blessing in disguise because I was put on a DMARD (disease modifying Anit-rheumatic drug) almost immediately so it thwarted any damage. Is your pain symmetrical? First course of action was to put me on a low dose of prednisone to see if it helped the pain- they said that was somewhat of a predictor of whether or not it was RA. They said RA usually responds to it very well. I got a small bit of relief but it took a great deal more to really get me right.

I wish you all the best in finding out what it is and getting a good treatment plan.

Yes, when I over do it, which is often, I get that overall fluish, puney feeling that is my RA. Also as someone else stated, it can be difficult to pin down a diagnosis..I went for close to four years before my rheumy uttered the word *rheumatoid*..go figure! Although he was treating me for RA the entire time and still is.

Hi KL, I think quite a few of those on this forum also have fibro. I am one of those without a firm diagnosis also. Once in a while I get that flu like feeling for a day or so and then it goes away. Not sure if it is related to me overdoing things or not. When my joints hurt they are not red and swollen either. Hang in there!
Mother of 3, grandmother of 4. I have OA, FM, and now possibly RA or polymyalgia rheumatica (January 2011) Taking Predisone, tapering.
