Good Moanin Everyone,
Gosh, I am glad to see this thread continuning. Well, I have to moan today..It is closet cleaning out day...I don't want to do it, but know I must. I showed the house yesterday, but no sale yet. Do I want to sell, do I not want to sell, I don't know, I think my brain is on hiatus.

But on a lighter note ( as our erin says) The Sun is shining and it is a beautiful day, tho cold as a well.........!

Hope everyone is having a pain free day, if you are..Give me some of what you got...LOLOL,

luvs and hugs from flopsie

Not a fun task. Not fun decisions, Flopsie. I'm sorry you have to make them. Is your family able to come around and help you out with all this? It hasn't been that long, so I'm not surprised you are still having trouble thinking through what to do next.

Erin, thanks for your info. The pain has gotten better now that I haven't needed to sleep in such a funny upright position as much the last 2 nights, but it's still there. I will try the heating pad. I had to break out the cough meds last night the doc perscribed. he gave me the good stuff...what a relief! Too bad I can't take it during the day. I think I'm actually a little hungry today, I haven't eaten much of anything since Friday - great for the diet, until I start eating again and I gain it all back two-fold! I guess hunger is a sign of improvement.

scool  Morning all,

{{{{{{{{{{ Just want to give a big WELCOME to all our new members.}}}}}}}}}}}

Erin has quite the sinus infection!  Wooo boy, been a long time.  It was a nice trade off...since being "sick" I never got "sick". LOL.  But the pred and Imuran and Humira I think has put my immune system in "boy in the bubble" mode.

Colon crisis has been bearable!  I'm an amazing bartender now devising several "MiraLax" cocktails....am thinking about publishing a cookbook on it!  Taking pride in being a good mixologist.  Had it in a Guinness saturday night...and therefor became an anesthesiologist! LOL tongue
      { in no way am I supporting mixing meds with alcohol nono it's not a good idea}
Lots of damp and wet storm fronts cruising along the U.S.....good luck everybody! Got hit hard yesterday with knee and foot pain.
Hang in there!

The weather has kicked my rear!  I wish all of you who are battling the damp a good fight!  Trying to keep my elbows as well anesthesized as possible.  They are a throbbin'.

The "Seargent Colon Powell" has been of upmost cooperativeness today being as I read my MiraLax directions WRONG! nono Bad nurse Erin!  Totally missed the "right dose" rule! Oops.  Well, the bottle did say ONE CAPFULL...but GI guy wrote in his extensive notes "2 Capfulls a day" he even circled it too.  If it were a snake it would have bit me in the you know where.  Colon crisis has surrendered for the night.  Taking 2 doses is a tad rough.  Today's cocktail was a Diet Pepsi Shooter.

Wishing all a good night, a good day and a better tomorrow.

Hey all,
Camama....where are you?  confused Just making sure you're "otay".  Hope you're doing better with the flu.

Mmmmm, so yeah....MiraLax in hot chocolate is primo!  Highly recommend it.
Had my PCP apptointment today and bloodwork.  My PCP is a teddy bear, he truly is great.  I hope he never retires.
Told him about the episode with the nasty pain management doc.
So together we came up with the combo of Avinza 30mg (extended release morphine) and dilaudid for BT.

Got home in one piece.  Let's call it a successful day.
Erin  VIEW IMAGE Totally pigged out on cookies last nite as to not be scolded by the doc for losing any weight.  Still a heavyweight & holding at 96 pounds!

Moanin' all,

Glad to moon you Flopsie!  It was the most action I've had in a long time.  Being stamped officially "immuno compromised" , { do we get a certficate with that?}
I pick up everything besides men and money! Hah!

I thought I would be able to slay the neck arthritis away...but it seems not.  Why can't these TNF discaimers which say..."may help slow the progress of RA...."  come with a money back guarantee....or at least frequent flyer miles?  Two for ones?  A free gift? (and I don't mean thrush!) LOL.  Also I'm thinking...why doesn't it progress to something I don't need?.....say my earlobes or that thing that dangles at the back of your throat? The uvula is it?  Ah, but these appendages....joints they do not contain.
My quest for today is to expand my MiraLax palate.  Perhaps a blueberry sorbet smoothie?
It's very "Dr. Zhivago" here in my house, minus the yearning & romance. Need new windows.  As the GroundHog predicts 6 more weeks of cold weather...looking into better insulation.

Here's to a good one!

sad  haven't been feeling well.
don't know what it is.  nausea, can't move my neck for 4 days, sleepy, legs hurt, joints hurt (well joints were a given), and really weak, muscles hurt really bad which is weird.
hoping tonight will be better.
take care all.

Erin, your images crack me up.  I love the jumping on the scale! I'm the opposite...I slowly get on the scale, then lean in to the wall ever so slyly in hopes to make the scale drop a few pounds! tongue Maybe, sliiiddde my foot to hang off of it to displace some weight from appearing on scale.

I'm sorry to hear about how you are feeling....I think I missed something about your neck. It just started hurting or did something happen. OW! I hope you feel better soon. Lay on the floor with a towel rolled up underneath you and let it get a good slow stretch.

I'm sorry I've been MIA again.....this flu knocked me down and though I"m recouping, I'm wiped out. I finished my antibiotic today for the ear infection. I've had the big D since last Thursday and now have very annoying hemrrhoids (however that is spelled.)  The pressure in my head is still there, but finally dwindling. I still get vertigo when I turn my head, but I can at least bend down or look down w/o immediate excruciating pain. The big thing is....I still can't hear and that concerns me. I have at least 80% hearing loss in one ear. The other is more like 20 or 30 % loss.  PCP said a referral to an ENT is on the way, but they didn't send it in yesterday as promised and I could have gotten an appointment today with the ENT AND the audioaulogist (okay, I think I mashed that spelling!)  Now I have to wait until late next week.

My kids and husband are already starting with the "never minds" when I say "what???" and I've already gotten in trouble for saying "uh huh" as an asnwer when I didn't hear more than one or two words out of something. sad   Errrggghhh! It is so frustrating!

The one plus is, while I was sick, the PA/RA stayed in check.....I couldn't stomach any more meds and stopped taking the Plaquinil. I had to finally start back up a few days ago as the joints said, "okay, we're bacccckkkkk - you've had your break!" But, at least I wasn't in immobilizing pain while sick (though I was immobilized in bed anyway!)

How do you get coffee out of a keyboard? tongue

tuesday i couldn't move my head.

yesterday was soooo weak, nauseous, couldn't move my neck and my legs had such pain in them.  very strange.  basically slept on & off for 3 days.
a little better now.
very strange, so who knows what it was.

all the bugs & critters are out.

Oh boy do I know how you feel! That was me last week - my head felt like one of those medicine balls. I could barely move w/o instant cry-out dizzy pain. Everything from my collar bone up was painful and tingled at the same time.  I spoke to an ER nurse tonight and she said that it sounds like my ear infection has not cleared up, but couldn't say how serious the hearing loss is but to not wait too long to get in. I just want reassurance that hearing loss like this isn't time-sensitive, you know? I don't want the doctor next Friday saying, "well, we could have saved your hearing better had you come in last week!"

Erin, are you on antibiotics for that sinus infection? I'm sure your weakness was a result of the infection. I hope you feel better soon!

You are too funny and too kind! Thanks! tongue

Well, because my PCP lagged on the referral, I can't see ENT until next Monday. The pain and pressure is subsiding slowly. But, some good news, my ear popped a little today allowing my hearing to improve slightly. A big plus. I can hear (faintly) a dial tone now and if my son whispers in my ear, I can just barely hear him long as no other noise is going on. I have a horrible uncontrollable cough and people are telling me with my auto-immune issues, it could turn to pneumonia easily.  Yeah, just what I need.

Did I tell you I got my rejection letter from SDI 2 weeks ago? Right when I was really sick with the flu. THat was my 2nd time around......with all that is going on with everyone getting denied, Bush talking about how all the baby boomers are on SS this year, etc... I don't even know if I should bother trying a 3rd time....if they are denying you Erin, then they are definitely not going to accept me.....According to them, being "sick" all the time from auto immune hepatitis and arthritis doesn't constitue SDI eligibility and they still got my claim wrong stating I have "auto arthritis" - what the heck is that???  I have arthritis in my fingers and I type all day at work - yet, I'm okay to work.....Whatever...<sigh> I have seen some part-time tech writing positions periodically - maybe I can find one later this year when I'm (hopefully) better and be able to stay well enough to handle hours like that.

Erin, I hope you are feeling better these days.

It's a cruel punishment going through this.  I wish I didn't have to do it neither.  But what can you do if you cannot take care of yourself & work?  I've come to reason that I'm 24 & they will deny me time and time again because of my age alone. They're figuring....geesh, she'll be collecting for almost a lifetime.
I'm currently filling out the appeal from the 2nd denial.
Do they know it'll take me weeks to fill this out?
I should video tape this!
It's all about pain and mobility this appeal information.
I should write down, that right now, I'de love to take a shower....but I can't get my arms up to wash my hair and arms! Perhaps I will!
I want out sooooo bad!  I want to be normal and work.  The bills and medicines are getting hard to keep up with again.
I wonder what they'll reply when I write I don't eat much because I can't open/cut/stand long enough to do it?
I mean, sunday evening...attempting to have a go at a semi normal nite to save my relationship...it took about 5 hours to prepare veggies and meat for some quesadillas and a steak.  Had to stop every half hour and had to go soooo slow.  And today?...forget it, the elbows and shoulders are shot!
I pray that this summer finds me a miracle!  I used to be so great.
I'm so sorry you were denied.
I hope your ear continues to get better.
Apologies for venting.  I'm P.O.'d!

No, do vent...that's what we're all about here....I know when (G-d forbid) I have another flare that puts me in bed I'm going to be swearing at SDI for not helping me out. I'm just getting by at this point - it makes me fear what will happen if I have to add a job in the mix, even part time right now. I know what happened the last two times I tried, albeit, that was full-time work - nonetheless, I ended up in the hospital for a week, almost on my deathbed one time, according to my PCP.

Erin, though I've had arthritis my whole life, I didn't start having disabiling pain/issues until I was 25. I am so sorry you are going through this, and though I was immobilized and totally consumed in pain, I was no where near as bad off with all the additional issues you are dealing with...to be so young and having to go through this all....I wish I could make everyone better so we could all enjoy life to its fullest. You have to wonder....were people like this always or is it something in our enviornment that is causing so many of us to be in pain, depressed, or ill?  How did people live 100 years ago if so many of them felt like we do?

WRITE all that stuff down you mentioned. Give 'em heck with it. Lay it on thick and LET THEM KNOW how bad off you are - leave nothing out. ADD all the new diagnoses (???SP???) and issues they are finding you with. Call and GET HELP filling the forms out, maybe that will help with the case. I believe they offer it.  Hopefully they will fix your claim and get it right, unlike they did with mine when I tried to correct the claim stating I have "auto arthritis" - that still bewilders me. They didn't even LOOK at my claim, it would seem. <sigh> this is exhausting.

Erin, have a good night. Feel better.

cool  goodmorning Camama & everyone! cool
it sure is bright n' shiney outside today.  at least it's nice to look at.
having a colon crisis today. argh!!!!  was lucky though...had 4 days of semi decent BMs! [that's pretty pathetic, i look forward to formed stool! ewwwww!]
yep, still filling out the forms.  i'm actually doin git as i go through the day because it asks, "what do you do from when you wake up til you go to bed?"  and "what causes you pain?"  so i'm basically keeping the darn appeal in my pocket & trying to get as much of it done as i " go about my day ".

picked up my new pain med, Avinza.  didn't take it yet. wanna shower first & don't want to get dizzy in the shower.

looking forward to the weekend!  it's our anniversary.  i'm so grateful that i have at least a wonderful boyfriend.  keeps me motivated.
