Not a fun task. Not fun decisions, Flopsie. I'm sorry you have to make them. Is your family able to come around and help you out with all this? It hasn't been that long, so I'm not surprised you are still having trouble thinking through what to do next.
Erin, thanks for your info. The pain has gotten better now that I haven't needed to sleep in such a funny upright position as much the last 2 nights, but it's still there. I will try the heating pad. I had to break out the cough meds last night the doc perscribed. he gave me the good stuff...what a relief! Too bad I can't take it during the day. I think I'm actually a little hungry today, I haven't eaten much of anything since Friday - great for the diet, until I start eating again and I gain it all back two-fold! I guess hunger is a sign of improvement.
yes, you've officially been pantsed by me! love the moonies! anything to get ya through the day. hah!
Erin, your images crack me up. I love the jumping on the scale! I'm the opposite...I slowly get on the scale, then lean in to the wall ever so slyly in hopes to make the scale drop a few pounds! Maybe, sliiiddde my foot to hang off of it to displace some weight from appearing on scale.
I'm sorry to hear about how you are feeling....I think I missed something about your neck. It just started hurting or did something happen. OW! I hope you feel better soon. Lay on the floor with a towel rolled up underneath you and let it get a good slow stretch.
I'm sorry I've been MIA again.....this flu knocked me down and though I"m recouping, I'm wiped out. I finished my antibiotic today for the ear infection. I've had the big D since last Thursday and now have very annoying hemrrhoids (however that is spelled.) The pressure in my head is still there, but finally dwindling. I still get vertigo when I turn my head, but I can at least bend down or look down w/o immediate excruciating pain. The big thing is....I still can't hear and that concerns me. I have at least 80% hearing loss in one ear. The other is more like 20 or 30 % loss. PCP said a referral to an ENT is on the way, but they didn't send it in yesterday as promised and I could have gotten an appointment today with the ENT AND the audioaulogist (okay, I think I mashed that spelling!) Now I have to wait until late next week.
My kids and husband are already starting with the "never minds" when I say "what???" and I've already gotten in trouble for saying "uh huh" as an asnwer when I didn't hear more than one or two words out of something. Errrggghhh! It is so frustrating!
The one plus is, while I was sick, the PA/RA stayed in check.....I couldn't stomach any more meds and stopped taking the Plaquinil. I had to finally start back up a few days ago as the joints said, "okay, we're bacccckkkkk - you've had your break!" But, at least I wasn't in immobilizing pain while sick (though I was immobilized in bed anyway!)
How do you get coffee out of a keyboard?
Oh boy do I know how you feel! That was me last week - my head felt like one of those medicine balls. I could barely move w/o instant cry-out dizzy pain. Everything from my collar bone up was painful and tingled at the same time. I spoke to an ER nurse tonight and she said that it sounds like my ear infection has not cleared up, but couldn't say how serious the hearing loss is but to not wait too long to get in. I just want reassurance that hearing loss like this isn't time-sensitive, you know? I don't want the doctor next Friday saying, "well, we could have saved your hearing better had you come in last week!"
Erin, are you on antibiotics for that sinus infection? I'm sure your weakness was a result of the infection. I hope you feel better soon!
yeah, keep a close watch on that ear. ASAP on next available apointment, @ least they can look in the ear for swelling and redness.
if worse comes to worse Camama...i can get video on my PC & teach ya sign language. LOL. seriously! i will. no charge.LOL.
be careful. i hope this gets better and better.
You are too funny and too kind! Thanks!
Well, because my PCP lagged on the referral, I can't see ENT until next Monday. The pain and pressure is subsiding slowly. But, some good news, my ear popped a little today allowing my hearing to improve slightly. A big plus. I can hear (faintly) a dial tone now and if my son whispers in my ear, I can just barely hear him long as no other noise is going on. I have a horrible uncontrollable cough and people are telling me with my auto-immune issues, it could turn to pneumonia easily. Yeah, just what I need.
Did I tell you I got my rejection letter from SDI 2 weeks ago? Right when I was really sick with the flu. THat was my 2nd time around......with all that is going on with everyone getting denied, Bush talking about how all the baby boomers are on SS this year, etc... I don't even know if I should bother trying a 3rd time....if they are denying you Erin, then they are definitely not going to accept me.....According to them, being "sick" all the time from auto immune hepatitis and arthritis doesn't constitue SDI eligibility and they still got my claim wrong stating I have "auto arthritis" - what the heck is that??? I have arthritis in my fingers and I type all day at work - yet, I'm okay to work.....Whatever...<sigh> I have seen some part-time tech writing positions periodically - maybe I can find one later this year when I'm (hopefully) better and be able to stay well enough to handle hours like that.
Erin, I hope you are feeling better these days.
