confused  Ok I'am not sure how to ask this question but I'am going to try and see if I can't make it come out right.

Ok about seven month's ago I woke up and my right side of my head was numb and I whent to the ER and the ER Doctor said that I they what they call Bell's palsy syndrom and the feeling should come back with in a couple of day's.Well it did not so I ask for a referral to a Neurolagist and he did some test and he said I had some nerve damage and that there was nothing that he could do unless it got werse. well  Here it is seven month's later I still do not have feeling in my right side of my head and now it started in my last three toe's on my left foot and now it is all five toe's and the whole bottom of my foot and now it is moveing into my right foot.My hand's as well are doing the same thing.I was standing next to the stove cooking and grease pop out on my foot and I did not even feel it.I have called to make another appointment with the Neurolagist and I have an appointment for june the 21 and I'am on the councilation list.I wander if any one had any input on this.I appricate any input any one has.
Thanks
Curley......

Curley, I don't have much knowledge of your particular symptoms, but if it has gotten worse, you've done the right thing by making another appointment with the neurologist.  If it gets much worse than now, I would strongly recommend calling around and finding another neurologist who can take you sooner than June 21st.  I hope it gets better for you.

Mela, the neurologist needs to do or order an EMG and NVC study. These are tests for neuropathy. Your symptoms sound like it to me. They need to find out what is causing it. There are many things that can cause neuropathy including Crohn's itself, B12 deficiency associated with CD, spinal compression, heavy metal toxicity, diabetes, etc, etc. After testing me for every possible cause, the neurologist said formally idiopathic but likely low B12. My GI disagrees and gave me copies of many cases of neuropathy from CD itself. Interestingly, mine stopped worsening when my gut got into remission so I tand to think my GI is correct.

Feel free to contact me about this should you want more information. --Ides

I have Crohn's, diabetes and arthritis. I have those same symptoms that were also dx neuropathy. I believe that mine is partially due to Crohn's Disease (because when I was dx Crohn's was when those symptoms began.) I have the same toes, feet, right side of my face, fingers and legs symptoms. However, most of my none GI doctors tell me it is due to my diabetes. I always thought it strange that I had diabetes long before my Crohn's dx, but the neuropathy came after the Crohn's dx.

God bless and stay well,

Madelyn

Thanks

Hi Mela (or do you prefer Curley?),

I am glad that your have an appointment for June 21st, but I think it is too bad you can't get in sooner! That is still a month away!

Hang in there, and I will be praying that the docs can find exactly what is wrong and fix it quick!

God bless and stay well,

Madelyn
