scool  moanin'

uh, but wait a minute eyes monday hasn't ended yet!  haven't slept neither Duck!  geesh, if i woulda' known that...i'd been online on HW if everyone was up! boy it's been ONE LONG DAY. lol. could you go back on the Ambien?

yalinda please let us know how you're doing!  you're probably @ the docs now.

                                   {{{{{{{{{{ BEST WISHES }}}}}}}}}}}}}

thank you El for your concern.  :-) and i hope you're doing ok.  :-) the infusion, as the doc said, was going to be a long drawn out-all day process....AND HE WAS RIGHT. got there @9am, got premedicated for a 1/2 hour, got a drip of NS for a few minutes, and then they started the Remicade.

he does it SUPER SLOW. 10cc for 1/2 hour than 20cc for 1/2 hour and then so on and so forth in increments of 10 until the bag is finished.  i believe i get a total of 150mg of the drug?  the total volume i don't remember, but it's at least a 500cc bag of fluid.  now, Remicade goes by weight...but doc's giving me more than what my weight comes out to.  he said it wouldn't hurt....could only help.  they did however keep a better watch on my BP.

doing alright, had a fever last nite...guess that explains why i was up all night.

next Remicade infusion is November 20, so me gets a vacation for a wee bit. but a ton of blood work in the meantime & doc appts.

Camama? what's going on with the exhaustion?  you ok? ((((big hug ))))  erin

hi everyone.... Asthma tongue   thats what they gave me as a dx.  so i now have inhailers and some other meds to take.  i told them i noted it brought on by the cold air and 15 min later i was out of the office!  i got out to the lobby before the receptionist finished my pw!  i guess i didnt ask many questions to be honest. redface   it was cold outside i was coughing up a storm and he stated by what i told him he wanted to go with asthma.  i do have an antibiotic to take too i guess to cover some bases. dont have the name in front of me as i turned in the script.  i see the pulmonary guy in 1 week and hopefully will have my ctscan completed by then?  as my boss says they must be looking for some stray siamese cats fot my cat scan... hahaha .... hey where is that dave guy been lately.  ohhhhh david are you spying on us? hehehehehe   yeah

well i got to go back to work  .... took the inhailer and i had a huge coughing gig so who knows?

hey i was up til 1 last night but i didnt go online...... guess we could have had a party!!!!!!

Good Moanin everyone! tongue    and how is everyone doing?

Good news on this end i was out yesterday in the cold and only had a few coughing episodes.  the only problem is that my so intelligent pulmonary doctor put me on two completely different meds for my cough! i am taking Advair 500/50 twice a day for asthma and 400 mg of Avelox to treat any possible infection in my chest.  so now i am better but from which med?  do i have this asthma or was it a bacteria infection in my chest?  so when i see him next week and wants me to stay on the advair for asthma will i have really had it? or not?  i was thinking about this last night and though what an idiot! But i am much better in just 2 days.

i also have my ctscan on monday afternoon and my pulmy visit tuesday first thing.  so what will happen is he won't get the compairison results of my new and old ctscan in time for the visit.  i think i will try and change my pulmy visit to a later day that week. otherwise i will be wasting my time with no definative answers on anything, But i am better so i guess that is what counts.

any thoughts out there on if this was asthma or infection?  which med works this fast?  i feel like the old tootsie pop commercial "the world may never know."  hehehe tongue    sry if u r to young to understand my silly joke.  ur loss.

well make it a great day everyone and here is a happy dance for no more cough, or atleast a lesser cough! yeah i fell like dancin, dancin, dancin. i'm a dancing machine.... oh baby.... auto matic, systomatic....... yeah lata yalinda

Hey Yalinda,

I would definitely re-schedule your pulmonary appt., if that's possible.  I fear it would be a huge waste of your time.  My appt. with my pumonologist is also on Tuesday, but I got a copy of the ct scan results from the radiology lab.  Couldn't you do that?  I believe a copy of sent to the pulmonologist automatically because he ordered it, but his office told me to make sure to pick a copy of the films and report from the radiologist myself.

So glad to hear your cough is a bit better!

So glad you are feeling better - my diagnosis tongue   is that you had an infection that was causing (or worsening) an asthma attack...whether you have asthma or it was just a reaction to something that got worse with infection, who knows.

How's that? I think I can use Photoshop to print up a medical degree, whaddaya think? tongue

I agree with El about the possibility of postponing the 2nd appointment until you have results from the 1st. Call the doc on Tuesday and see what he/she thinks. Why go an extra time if you don't have to?

You all are the most fun on the boards. I definitely have asthma and allergies and I can tell you for sure that infection makes it worse. It is possible that you don't have asthma because asthma is one of those chronic fun things that never really goes away but rears its ugly head up at you and say.................WATCH OUT I'M HERE.

My pain in feet and body got so bad that I took the alleve. They want me to stay away from alleve until they redo my scope and find out if I have reflux. But the darn old tylenol just doesn't work good. It takes so long and it is not as effective. I went shopping with a friend who is very slow (almost 80 years old, who wouldn't be slow?) at the cursed BJ warehouse dump and we were forever buying toilet paper, paper products and different necessaries. There is absolutely no help there and it makes Walmart look like a chic posh store. My feet were horrible and so I took the alleve and now it is better.

I hope you don't have permanent asthma Yalinda...maybe it was from the snowstorm and everything take care of yourself.

confused  THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION!  Is HALLOWEEN celebrated internationally?  On that same day? hmmmmm?

Yeah, Joan...you ROCK too!  but ya know who i miss? DAVE sad   i wonder what his thoughts are on BJ's? LOL tongue ya know?...if he thinks women get their money's worth! tongue hah! SOMEONE woke up with the funny bug this morning! tee hee hee.

ugh...dreading going to the rheummy. MUST BE DONE!  knee pain is way too severe to go on any longer without the medievel torture session.  it's been geesh! since April i've had it done! i hope the after pain won't interfere with Pumpkin Carving capabilities.

my BEST outfit for Halloween was.....TOXIC WASTE! devil oh it was soooo cool.  when i was working in the hospital; i took a big ol HAZMAT Bag, filled it with stuffin's, made some holes for my legs & head & arms....and glued like cotton, syringes, gauze, fake body parts, puke, bandaids ANYTHING gross i could get my hands on. FANTASTIC!

well folks, have a happy day. :-)

I love the smarty pants idea as well as toxic waste! My daughter told me I should dress up like a pumpkin since I'm fat and round enough to be one! sad   Out of the mouth of babes....<sigh>

Erin, good luck today. I hope everyone starts feeling better soon! I"ve been achy all over, even in joints and bones that don't normally hurt me! What gives! I think my body is telling me I need to dress up this year as a creaky old skeleton! tongue

Hi yalinda...i'm with you on the free samples but i want expensive free samples so i go to the expensive stores for that and get free fruit, bagels bits, juice, etc. We also have one store that has free coffee and donuts every Thursday until 11 am.

well i am just burning all the time and don't know how to turn off the towering infernos of my feet. notice it is better if i am not wearing socks and shoes. Going barefoot in the snow sounds kind of extreme though.

Halloween is coming and i will wear my usual mask...my face and my usual disguise...my body. that guy "dave" doesn't scare me...I'd probably scare him...he,he,he..

Erin, it's the bipolar weather we've been having that I think is doing it. We just had a bad Santa Ana (hot winds) and now we're dealing with allergies from all the fires that are around us. I'm slowly adjusting to the azulphidine, half dose, may try full dose again in another week or so. Also, in the past I've had severe issues with PMS causing flares - but, this new birth control pill I've been on hasn't given me a "visit" for 4 out of the 5 months I've been on it. That's great and all, but my body feels like it is still going thru PMS (only lighter version) on a monthly basis. I'm wondering if possibly it is causing my body confusion, thusly flares - maybe I should call the doc to make sure all is good.

Joan, is that raynauds casuing that constant burning? there isn't anything that the doc can suggest to help that out? That must be AWFUL!

Boooooo....  skull HAPPY HALLOW'S EVE  skull .....anyone get spooked with the "Exorcist" saturday nite?
i hope everyone is doing ok and i would like to give a BIG WELCOME to all new members :-)
lost all use of my silly right arm from carving my pumpkin! lol.  but worth it!  i'm sure it'll feel better soon.
the wind here in NJ has been tremendous! holey cow! up to like 50mph...boy did it make for a creepy weekend; the wind howled!
feeling crap!  sad so i had sushi, some veggies, later last night some cheese (oh heaven!) bread and wine...AND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ON A LIQUID DIET!  hah. paying the piper; but man...staying on liquids is easier said than done...especially when there's food around. eyes so, staying @ my honey's because the only thing he keeps in his fridge is beer (and mayo, ketchup, mustard) so it'll be easier to suck down Ensure & not cheat.  nono gotta rest the gut.
have a happy day :-)

camama...sorry you are having all those fires...it is very bad for your breathing.
I have metatarsalgia (lack of metatarasal padding in both feet). I was born with these crummy feet as well as with dislocation of the hip. Unfortunately a screwed up podiatrist made my situation worse....a number of years ago. He didn't do it purposely...he just didn't know what he was doing (what else is new). Also born with hammer toes, bunions, etc. Was doing ok with it except now I am not supposed to take alleve since I may have a reflux problem. This is the one pill which works for me. I am trying not to take it but it is very difficult.

hang in there gang and take care of yourselves. ps. my tooth broke which enhances my witch look...I also bought 2 brooms today...hey it's cheaper than gasoline.

Joan, you are too funny! Do you find the plastic or straw brooms better for wind conditions? tongue What did the podietrist do to you to make your situation worse? Yikes! I have issues with the metatarsil in both my feet. It's horrible.

The fires aren't as bad, I think, right now, but I've been getting painful coughs that hurt my chest. . . . not liking them at all! It's (thankfully) not constant or even frequent - so, hopefully it's the fire pollution that will go away shortly!

Hubby is carving the pumpkins with the kids right now. I thought I'd take a break and check in with everyone! My fingers hurt bad tonight and I"m not doing any carving!

Have fun tomorrow everyone! ***
