Good moanin everyone! hope this finds everyone chipper and happy. ok mind over matter here guys - go with me on this upbeat thingy! well it doesnt look like rain today so that will be good.

soon it will be thanksgiving in america and i put on a huge spread. usually two turkeys two types of stuffing 6 pies and tons of side dishes. then i invite people i love and also people i hardly know, adopt them and spend this holiday with and we celebrate!
i LOVE thanksgiving! i just am VERY worried i wont be able to do it this year! i mean i go all out! martha stewart style....plus! one family i usually have has said they might not come this year- my best friend- and i think it is cuz she knows i am not at my best- but i was actually gonna take help from pepes this year and let them bring things. now i worried it will not be as festive or huge. i know i cant do the huge but i want to and cancellations will add to my frustration. but "que sara sara." what ever will be will be.... the futures not ours t see que sara sara...... ok i just showed my age!

favorite holiday dishes? traditions? tips to get through this with RA? maybe we should do a thread on holidays? i'll let someone else start if they want to!

ok last thing. everytime i cough my elbow hurts hehehehehe really my funny bone heheheheheh
not funny really cuz it hurts! i must have pinched a nerve with all the inflammation? ok i'm going enough talkin to myself! byes!!!!!!!!!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE! yes i shouted so u could hear me out there! hehehe yalinda

You crack me up, Yalinda! Since T-day is nearing, I would start the planning now. If you think your friend is worried about how you are feeling, then let them (everyone) know you don't want to loose your T-day feat tradition but you just need a little help this year and would like everyone to contribute to it to make it as wonderful as always.

I do enjoy spending time w/family over t-day, but I'm really not big on the traditional food (I know, I'm awful) I keep threatening to have it at my house and order pizza. I hosted twice and ended up having the turkey, etc both times... once I had everyone bring a dish as I was not well myself. Turned out a pizza T-day was too expensive for me at the time! My husband's nephew was bummed - he wanted pizza instead too! tongue ****

Hey everyone... trying to get caught up on all the posts.. you guys have been busy! :) I'm starting to feel better... spent the day cleaning the house, trying to get all the "sick" germs out.. so that we don't end up sick again.. It ran through the whole family, and I don't want it to make it another round... Hope all is well with everyone!

hi, I have been very busy...yesterday I walked too much and my feet are killing me.  It was nice out and I took a walk in the country.  I love to cook too, Yalinda.  Today I made a macaroni salad (with salmon, hard boiled eggs and onions).  I also made a fresh fruit salad.  I did not take a pain pill but instead put my feet up when I got the chance.  Want to watch the NOW show on PBS and finish watching a disc I rented from the video shop.  Hope my feet feel good tomorrow!

peace on gang

Hee, I forgot about your request! Sure, come on over! I'm sure my husband would ***love***   more immuno-surpressed and "pained" people around here! However, maybe with help, I could finally get this house in order and you'd actually have a place to SLEEP! Not to mention, I'm a rotten cook, hubby would love a decent dinner on a daily basis that was on time before his night shift!

Can I moan about how awful I feel...not awful....but down, depressed, tired, fed up, and not great. I can't tell if I'm getting sick or am just bothered by our bipolar weather here (thanks for the coinage Erin!) or just overly fatigued......whatever it is, it sucks. I'm having those really 'stupid' moments more and more again, guess I'll see what my liver results are on Thursday. Took blood test yesterday - but, I won't be surprised if it's acting up causing some of this.....

<sigh> I need to crawl and hide away for a while....let some other slob take care of my life and put it back in order for me........

awe, {{{{{{{{ big HUG }}}}}}}}}}}} camama, i am a total BLAH with ya.  my culprit is the prednisone.
let's see, what did i do to make me feel good?  i walked for about 5 minutes...yea! and bought a 1960 vintage coin purse for $5!  it's very pretty. white & beaded. sparkly too. very classy. ooh, and i indulged in some fashion magazine reads for 2 hours! bliss! made me feel better? heck yeah. physically...very bad, but tryin' hard. knees are crap. can't wait for Remicade on the 20th. eyes needs to be SOONER! oy!
here's to a better day.

Thanks Erin. I feel a bit better today.  Man, your knee situation sure stumps me! Something just doesn't seem right with you not getting relief from anything. I keep wishing to hear good news from you. What ever happened with SDI? Do you see a doctor before the 20th? What other meds are you taking again?

Take care.

  scool moanin' ya'll
ciao bella Camama...what other meds am i taking again? lol...the list is below. tongue the thing is, it's not that i don't respond to any meds...it's just that i'm really really bad. what i have is a pretty darn severe case of RA.  so the strongest of the strong RA meds are allowing me to: shower myself, dress, perhaps walk a little during  the week. and when i'm really good, i can go out for a few hours! :-)
believe me, even though the knees are extremely painful...they are nowhere near how painful they were before the injections into them.  so i guess my pain scale is off too!  an 8 or a 9 is acceptable...but a 10 is HELP!!!!!!!
oy! okay, SSDI...i called in for my appeal.  i had to write a letter stating i was 10 days late because i was hospitalized, great huh, and am working on the paperwork now.  i'm filling out the papers for the formal hearing. same old questions, blah blah blah.  almost finished. making copies tomorrow & then mailing them in.  guess i need to get an attorney?
whoa! i slept till 2pm today! holey cow. makes up for zero sleep friday nite.
have a good day all.

Hey Yalinda,

If your pain is that bad, can't you get into see your rheumy earlier than Dec. 1st?  I know my primary wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole.  She would probably give me a pain killer, but that would be about it.  She wouldn't even give me prednisone without clearing it with the rheumy.  I know it can be difficult to get into see the specialists, but perhaps even if you can't see him, he could call you in a prescription?  My rheumy has done that for me before.  Also, did they ever explain your cough?  Is it related to your nodules?  Can't they give you anything for it?  Delsym, OTC, works rather well for me, but it sounds like you may need a narcotic cough suppressant.

I'm still fighting this sinus stuff.  Been on antibiotics 4 days now, and don't feel much better.  Still have low grade temps, but perhaps they're not that meaningful.  It's the horrible sinus headaches that get me.  My head feels so heavy, all I want to do is lay down, but the headaches get worse when I'm lying down.  Enough whining.

Hope everyone else is groovy.

Elcamino

mornin'

yalinda, i would get a steroid IM shot when you see your PCP!  it can really help with the pain.  think about it, it might be a good idea.

seems like we're all on the same cycle. not doing well!

having a great cup of coffee right now! :-)

Erin, so glad you got some sleep - boy do I HURT bad when I can't sleep. What a vicious cycle though! You can't sleep becaues you are in pain, you are in more pain because you can't sleep! It's awful! Good luck with SDI.

Yalinda, for most of the last 10 years I pretty much put my shoes on the moment I got out of bed until the moment I got back in. I'm (thankfully - but only more recently) better than that now......I need the support via a solid cross-trainer sneaker and the orthodics with the extra metatarsil support....In the beginning, I also needed ace bandage support socks, but those I don't rely/need those too often (knock on wood) any more.   I also rely heavily on daily stretching (feet, calves, and ankles) to help get my feet through the day. Don't know if any of that will help you out.

I'm doing my best to fight the flu or whatever it is that is going around here, but I feel I'm loosing that battle...must be why I've been a mess the last 4 days or so......

Take care***

gosh i was always a barefoot, footloose and free kinda of a mama. hardly ever wore shoes! now i take them off and each step is painful. i knoiw it is that dang prednisone missing but i am stubborn ladies and gents and i am not going back on it! i might take the shot erin, does it hurt? be honest cuz i'll get u if u lie hehehehehehehe

well i am gonna also ask for an iron test and a blod test to tell if i have cancer. i am told there is such a test and i am sick of waiting to hear in january what the nodules are from the pet scan. i am having cancer dreams everynight! i take a cupboard full of meds for this cough and no one knows what my nodules exactly are so i am having nightmares from lung cancer to metas. lymphomas to melanomas to breast cancer gosh every night a cancer dream. i am not a hypocondriac but i think my subconcious cant handle the uncertainty, ok my conscience too!

well thinking off all of you and thanks as always for all the suupport you give me. i should be dreaming of all of you instead hehehehehehehehe like visiting camama on the beach in the sun all of us having a party! ROAD TRIP! heheheheheheehe ..... too far!

You go Yalinda. Insist on that test. How horrible to have to wait until January to find out what's going on?!?!

good evening, (said with a spooky voice)

how is everyone doing? have tons of threads to catch up on .......

went to my pcp yesterday. no real advances on this end. i tried to get him to order a ca blood test and he said that it might come back a false positive and then i would be looking for a needle in a haystack that wasnt there. he did order some blood work for me not certain what they all are? i asked for iron check sue to lack of energy.

got my flu shot and a pnuemo vax. since then my arm KILLS! the muscle is like someone punched me real hard in the arm, but there is nothing there when u look at it? now i feel like i am a wimp and have no pain tolerance, but it really hurts. is it suppose to hurt like that?

today was warm and i thought my cough was gone... but tonight i went out cold and damp and i coughed again. got an inhailer but my pcp doesnt think i have asthma? who the heck knows anything. your so right marius these doctors dont have a clue!

well thats it on me gonna put a load in the4 dryer , fold some towels and then hit the hay! almost midnight here til later hugs to all yalinda

Erin to your earlier post RE: laundry. It's funny because I too am battling the pred. thing, heart pounding, sweating and not sleeping. Was on 30mg, then a week and a half later, down to 20mg, one week later, back on 15mg thank goodness. So I told myself, I am going to beat this. So I went into my disasterous laundry room and did it all. At first I hurt so bad but I told myself I'm doing it. And I'm talking about 10-12 loads. After I was done. Wow! I have had the best day yesterday than I have had in 4 years. I don't know why or what but I really enjoyed it. Didn't have to take any pain meds. Must be just one of those days. Although today I don't feel so bad either. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Because I have been so deathly ill. I'm sure that I'm talking to soon, but I'll even settle 5 minutes with no pain ........hope you're all in not too much pain.
Have a good day,
Lori
