Ok, I had had an echo done last wednesday. Today I called to get the results, and they tell me that the doc wants me to come in for an appointment to discuss the results in person. Also my cholesterols are high, a low LDL and I have a low potassium level. Must not be to low or I'm sure they would have made me go to the ER. But they want me to follow up the my PCP for that. Maybe explains all the weakness and fatigue I have been having. And am so tired. I have been having Pleurisy, at least that's how I understood him. Can he diagnose me with having Pleurisy without any tests, other than listening with stethascope(spelling)? Anyone with or have had similar situation???

umh...peronally i suffer witha chronic pleuritis, (and costochondritis on top is no picnic) and that comes along with the RA package. they've seen it via xray, i guess maybe by listening too? i would think that pleurisy might sound a little scratchy??? also, the way you describe a pain on inspiration & exhalation also gears them toward what is or what is not pleurisy pain/related.
the echo i've had done pretty much just focused on the valves of the heart.
sure, K+ levels that are even slightly off can have an inpact. keep atop of things....and take it easy too.
perhaps the physician made a guess at pleurisy because he/she knows you have RA? and it's common? just me thinkin' out loud.
rest well.

Thanks Erin,
As always very informative. Well it will be an interesting visit. I will not worry about it untill then.....Maybe nothing...maybe something little...or just maybe something...lol...although I have listened to you guys about logging everything down and boy do I have a report form them. I don't care if they take home to read it as long as they read it...
Thanks and take care,
Lori
