Have you ever heard of a sinus infection setting off your artritis? Well, the pain finally just drove me to the ER and they admitted me. Seems I had a raging sinus infection and didn't even know it. But my neck felt like it was breaking and I had a bad headache. While I was there they put me on morphine pump, fentanyl patch, solu-medrol and tramadol iv. Holy cow. And Levaquin and reglan and goodness knows what else. I had a very busy IV, I tell you. Got sent home with Avalox and my normal pain regimen. They took a bunch of blood to send to Des Moines for testing. Dr seems more interested in getting to the bottom of what's ailing me now. Oh boy. The levaquin has set off the trots and nausea again, but just for 4 more days. I'm getting some yogurt today for that. I miss the normal poopoos I was having there for a bit! Never underestimate the joy of having solid turds! tongue
Oh, and once the sinus infection clears up, doc is sending mr to an EENT spec for surgery to 'open things up' with some king of surgery. Hope it's just lasers!

Oh boy.
I am listing symptoms/test results cuz my Dr is still trying to figure out exactly what's going on with me. If any of this rings a bell with you, email me at daisyhen at msn dot com.

Basically they stick a scope up your nose and into your sinus cavities and clear all the gunky stuff out.. then they pack your nose FULL of gauze.... The recovery is not fun... not at all... However, is supposed to be worth it once you are completely healed.. I am still on the mend right now...

Ewww. :(

{{{{{HUGS}}}}}

The levaquin was causing me major gutt problems, so dr told me to stop taking it. I just drank some acidofilus milk, a yogurt and some crackers and feel better now. With any luck the trots are gone...

Lots of pro-biotics! Great job! Yeah the sinus surgery itself was fine (lots of anesthesia) but the recovery is something else...

Ahhhhhhhhhhh. My tummy is starting to feel human again. I'm sitting here just poot-poot-pooting the bloat away. My poor cat is hiding though...

Good lord Ducky i had sinuse surgery this past march and I would do it all over again that is how much relief that i got from having the surgery.I how ever did not have to have my sinuse packed with gauze thank god and this is going to sound strange but my teeth hurt werst that any thing else and my ENT told me that it was one of the most common thing that most people complain about after surgery.I tell you sinuse problem are for the birds.I hope that you are able to get some relife but please do remember that every one is different and react differently to surgery and meds.Please do let us know how your ENT appointment goes.

Saw the EENT today. He said he can't do anything for me til they fix my neck. I said, PLEASE tell my dr that. :(
Seems the way they'd have to bend my neck to do the surgery would do a real number on the pinched nerve.
*sigh*
So...the suffering continues. And the infection is still there. And I'm not taking anymore AB unless it's in shot form. My gutts have had it. :(
