First.....I'd like to say hello to all of you here @ HealingWell!  I'm glad to have found you!

I've thought lately that I'm long overdue for this.
As I'm sure most/all of you can relate, dealing with Arthritis and all that comes along with it not only tests our pain thresholds physically, but even more so 'mentally'.  It definitely has me and I'd thought for yrs that I have a fairly high pain threshold.  Well, not so true anymore.  The wear and tear gets to be too much and I am brought to tears at times.

Anyway...my OA hurts.  It's been strategically placed so as to hurt in one respect but not another (my knees for instance).  I have cushion to simply walk, but to get up and down, even from a sitting position, gives me great pain and huge effort.  It's my 'kneecaps'.
Have tried a hundred different meds, etc.  (well ok, not a hundred, but it seems like it)

Also have severe neuropathy in the joints of all my toes and the balls of my feet (finally found Gabapentin which is eliminating the burning).  I'm on my feet all day at work (ironically, I'm in a retired status unofficially and sat in a corporate binny for 20+ yrs).

One person says ..........'keep active'!  The doc says..........'find a sitdown job'!
It's a mixed bag and each day is an effort.
Several other surgeries on 'bones', but won't get into all that......yet!
Can you relate?????????????
thanks for just letting me get this bit out in the open!!!!!

hugz from Abq.,NM

Hey curley.........appreciate your taking the time to write a note.
You are definitely dealing with several issues and my heart goes out to you!!!
Medication-wise, I haven't kept track of the OA meds as I've tried several and I probably should have.  The doc just gave me Etodolac, but I don't like it so am going to stick to Indocin.
Oxycodone also.
I'll ck on the med for the neuropathy that you suggested as I have to take the Gabapentin three times a day (600 mg) to keep the pain/burning in my feet under control.
And...thanks to the family genes, I have high blood pressure to keep under control with Diovan HCT.
Anyway.........this forum is great and truly helps me keep all in perspective already!

big hugz........!

I see that most on here have RA and don't see much discussion in the way of OA.  Could I be in the wrong forum?
