I really responded to the medrol dose pack this time around and started yet again getting out some more. Took my boy to the movies and when we left somehow I misjudged the curb and my foot dropped down while my heel was still on the curb. No strength and still stiff I seemed to have ruptured a tendon possibly according to the ER. So here I am now in a boot and crutches till I see the ortho. I couldn't put an ounce of weight on my foot until 1 hour after taking my anti inflammatory and ultram. At least I can now because crutches and me just don't get along plus my shoulders haven't been good lately and they ended up causing more pain. I was told to keep all weight off of the foot until I see the doc but I wonder since it has improved really well since starting the pain meds if it was not such a major injury? Maybe I can put more weight on it? Or is it just the meds giving me a false sense of improvement?
I have been dealing with plantars fascitis for nearly 4 months and they feel that this is what could have ruptured. Something popped and the pain and swelling were immediate. Now though it hurts less then it did in the past with the meds of course and instead of hurting when I first put weight on it then improving it is the reverse. The longer I bear weight the more it starts to hurt. Which is a bit odd I think. What really sucks is I have been put off of work at least until Thursday or pending what the ortho decides. Hopefully no casts and I won't go the shoe orthotic route again as this only caused more pain with the RA along with rolling over... spent too much money on this just a year or so ago for it not to help. And the physical therapy part that I paid tons into consisted only of here this is what you do, you don't need to come back, and I want my 400 bucks. None of which helped, been doing the stretching regularly and tried the heel cups which only caused more pain.
I think the RA is aggravating this or vise versa, my fear is when the pred is completely out of my system if this foot doesn't get better I won't be walking at all yet again.
As you can see this is just a bunch of babbling. Couldn't sleep. Oh, right. No word on the Enbrel yet but this week would be a great week to start it as I don't have to worry about setting up appointments and work schedules.
