Hi - I have posted on this page before, I need to ask you all a question.

Last year I had a Bakers Cyst behind my knee, it sure was painful, it burst and the fluid went down my calf, it finally
got better and went away. I tested positive for RA when my general dr. But when I went to see a RA dr. all the tests were neg.  (after my knee was better) I tested again later last year and they were still neg.

Now a year later,  the symptoms are back, I am very exhausted, I feel like i could take a nap at anytime. My knee is
sore but not swollen, and I ache and am stiff.

If I continue to feel like this, and if I test neg again for RA. What should I do?? I really believe I have the symptoms.
Maybe it goes into remission. It comes and goes so quick, I feel before I have time to go to the dr. I will feel better. It's crazy.
It just hits me somedays...

Any advice would be helpful.

Hi,

The thing is that I have always tested negative for RA but there is no doubt that I have it with my x-rays, symptoms and response to the meds.  It is called sero-negative RA so my advice is to keep searching until you find out what is causing your symptoms then you can get the meds started before damage occurs.

Good luck.

I have to agree with Shaleygirl on this one. Some time's people can have RA but have a negative result.I have no doubt that you have some typ of arthritis. Please just don't give up.Some one will find the sorce as to what is causeing all of this pain and stiffnes. If you don't mind me asking how old are?have you been tested to see if you carry a gene called HLA-B27?most people that test posative for this have RA but keep in mind that some times you can have this gene and not have Ra or vises versa. Please let us know what you find out.
