Over the last year and a half both of my hands will "lock-up" in a clenched position.( usually during work with my hands, i.e. painting or using a hammer)  They aren't painful, I just can't use them, they will not move. I have to push each finger back and not use them for a time until they will work again. If I try to go back to work they will lock up again, this time becoming a little more painful. Can any one give me an idea of whats going on?

Thanks

Welcome! I think it could be a couple of things. Is it your joints or muscles that are freezing up? Have you seen a doctor about this? What did they say? Are you on any medication?

Hi: one of my hands has turned into a "claw" a couple of times -- it's very scary to feel it draw up like that. I guess it's not exactly like yours but I've never heard anyone talk about it. What kind of meds are you taking -- because it seems like that's what it has to be related to, don't you think?
