Good morning all,
It's been forever since i've posted anything, just been very busy trying to get approval to build a new house on the farm. Anyways, this Friday was my second dose of Embrel. I haven't noticed much of a change in re/ stiffness or swelling, and i haven't had an er visit since i started MTX and prednisone. It just seems i have this constant ache in my hands and feet. Does it take some time for the Embrel to take this stuff away,or does it just knock the edge off? My other question is, are there any tricks to giving the injection? I let it come to room temp before injecting ,as the instructions read, but it is still so very painful as it is going in my leg. My dose is 50ml once a week, and i see my rheumy in about 4 more weeks. Oh one more thing. Yesterday i got stung twice by hornets. There is some swelling in my finger (where the first one got me). I am not alergic them or anything, but i was just worried because of the embrel and mtx. Theres nothing to worry about while taking these drugs is there? i know that i need to watch for infection, but other than that it should be okay? Ya'll take care!! Hope everyones doing good!! Joy

Hey Joy.. try injecting into your stomach.. I know it sounds painful, but it actually really isn't too bad.. For me, it's a lot less painful than my thighs. Some people see results with the Enbrel immediately, some take a couple months.. Hang in there, and gradually you should be getting some relief soon!

Thanks Ducky, the tummy does sound painful, but if i can get up my nerve I may just try that. I willing to give the Embrel time, I just kinda thought it may be like an over night fix :) but waiting is fine too, as long as I'm not running to the er anymore, i'm good with it.. Tale care ,Joy
