I had a case of heat exhaustion yesterday. I was at a shoot, it was hot and it snuck up on me. I drank a boatload of water all day, but I was horribly overdressed for the hot weather and I didn't park myself in enough shade. I'm fine now, but last night and this morning when I got up, I could barely walk. My hips, SI's and heels were just screaming. I took some ibuprofen this morning and it helped immensely. I've been feeling just fine until then. I went back out to shoot today and while I'm tired, nothing hurts any worse than a normal day out shooting (we do a lot of standing all day).

I could see my muscles screaming from the heat exhaustion, but not my bones. Very strange. Like I said, I'm fine now, but yesterday was just weird.

I've been out in the sun shooting quite a few weekends, no problems, this was out of the blue.

Anyone have any ideas of what I may have missed?

You know, I find that it only takes a little bit of difference to make me really affected by the sun.....it could be it was just a tad bit hotter than normal, the sun a little stronger for whatever reason...etc.  I don't know - I often wonder why some day I'm wiped out from being outside and others I am not.

You know, it just occurred to me. I also started my period Friday and it was pretty rough on Saturday. Think that might have contributed to the heat exhaustion? Can't see how that would affect my bones -- I'm reaching here!

I agree with you CA...some days it seems harder in the sun than others, but this really knocked my socks off.

You know, I don't know if this will help at all, but it seems to go both ways with me. It flares up both in intense heat, and intense cold... or just randomly when it feels like it.. haha.

I'm in Utah, so I got both ends of the intense weather spectrum or whatever you wanna call it. Good times.
