Hey everyone. New here, obviously...
Anyway, I was officially diagnosed with RA a couple years ago, but it's been affecting me for almost 9 years. I thought I'd drop in here and join a little community.
I don't really know anyone else with RA like this.
So here's my hello :)

Welcome LiquifiedSkittles,

This is a nice place to feel like your not alone. Considering there are 2.1 million of us - I personally don't know anyone. Most people don't seem to know what RA is. If one more person shows me their one finger that is "Killing them" from arthritis I think I'll scream. Anyway "Hello."

I know exactly what you mean. A while back my sister's boyfriend (who's abusive and controlling and I didn't like anyway) gave me this cash he owed me, and I couldn't get up out of bed to get it so I told him to set it next to the door on my shelf, boy did that make them mad. I got a nice long talk from my sister about how he has arthritis too and it's not anywhere near as bad as I make it out to be. Drives me insane!!

Glad to be here :). I hope to get to know some of the people around here, seems like a friendly little forum.

welcome Skittles!!!!!!
this IS a very special place; and like you mentioned "we do GET IT"...only those who live it {or are truly compassionate} really understand.
in many ways...RA & AI diseases are for the most part unfathomable to comprehend.
it ain't your grandma's arthritis i say.
Mary you are too funny!
people need to realize that autoimmune diseases effect the whole body & many organs & various's just not arthritis in joints.
i go nuts when my neighbor bosts about "how wonderful his glucosamine works! and how i should go on it because it'll work!"
ok thanks.
think i've downed more herbs, fish oild, SAME, glucosamine, etc...than i don't know who!  this guy doesn't understand that RA is an immune issue.
smiling and nodding is working rather well i'm finding. LOL.
you take good care & we all look forward to hear from you!
join in on our "Moanin'" thread if ya like!...a place to go to "Moan" in the mornin'. tongue

Haha That just about made my day.... Don't even get me started on glucosamine... OR the fish oil...

Yes, smiling and nodding works extremely well...

I see my new Rheumatologist on August 2nd, I hope she (I THINK it's a 'she'...) can do something for me, it's getting ridiculous. What amused me is when I wound up in the ER a few nights ago with chest pains I had about 3 or 4 doctors ask me if I've been diagnosed with rheumatoid for SURE... It was driving me mad.
