I read Erin's post...Im basically in the same boat except I have NO insurance
but the pain I have is excruciating...motrin/otc's dont touch it...I cant get pain pills without seeing a rheumy first of course
and if I go the ER they prescribe vicodin that I go through in 3-4 days easily and sometimes it doesn t even help
so the only thing that helps...u guessed it...PREDNISONE...I have so much of it..its ridiculous..but isnt it a catch 22..I take it and deterorates(sp) the bones??
What Im curious about is...if I didnt take it...would the arthritis get so bad, that I cant move..cuz Im almost to that point now when I dont take it....would it worsen? Or as the day goes on will I feel better...?
Ive never not taken SOMETHING on the horrible days when I cant get out of Im wondering what if I didnt take bad would it get?

Yesterday I dared to struggle. Today I dare to win.

Diagnosed with severe Crohn's colitis in May 2005. Have taken Imuran, Remicade, TPN, Colozal, Entocort, Flagyl, Cipro, Dicyclomine, Prednisone, Asacol, Prevacid, and the list goes on. Taking low amounts of Pred now & 3600mg of Asacol currently...Can't wait till I can get back on Remicade, my miracle drug!

Oh wow that's a tough call... From my personal experience, it gets MUCH worse if I don't take anything, to the point that I can't get out of bed. It's ridiculous...

I'm really sorry I don't know what to tell you about that prednisone, hang in there.

P.S. Is there any kind of insurance you could get on? Like something free through the state or something?
