I saw my infectious disease doctor for the last time late last week.  I will be finishing the antibiotics in another month (for latent tb), and she told me I did not have to see her again, unless I needed to (which I certainly won't).  As of the third week in August, I will be eliminating three drugs i currently take, leaving me with a mere 10.  But, hey, I'm not complaining.  I'm sure some of you take way more drugs than I do.  We had a friend spend the night Sat. night and he watched me pack my pills for the week on Sunday morning.  He was flabbergasted at the number of meds I'm on.  My Gyn doctor also called me a walking pharmocopia--she's the only doctor I have that does not have me on anything.  So anytime I can get rid of something, the better off I am.

Woo-hoo! Congrats to you El! So does that mean you can go back on Enbrel? Not that you want to add another med to your list.. :)

Hey Duck.  Thanks for responding.  Yeah, I suppose I could go back on enbrel, but I don't want to.  Mtx is doing just fine by itself (much better than enbrel did by itself, and it costs a mere fraction of the price of enbrel.  Both of my parents took mtx for 15+ years with no problems, so my rheumy will probably want to leave me  on it anyway.  I will NOT take enbrel and mtx together again--I caught too many weird things.

Yeah you're right.. if you are getting results from the MTX without the Enbrel, then why bother.. I don't blame you a bit! :) :) :)

El good 4 you girl!  So glad for you.

And ya' know what?  Good thinking regarding the Enbrel.  Hey, MTX is tried n' true and has been around forever; and if it's doing the trick? why screw with what's working.  I totally support you on this one & I think it is a very very good and smart move.

p.s. yeah...i'm catching up on posts!
way to go el!
