I was diagnosed with PA about five years ago, but have been relatively symptom-free for about three years. Within the last year, I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome. I cannot believe how severely it has affected my life. I tried to take Saligen and one other med, that I cannot think of right now, and nothing has given me any relief. My doctor prescribed Enbrel and I had my first injection yesterday. Has anyone else ever taken Enbrel for Sjogren's Syndrome? Has anyone taking Enbrel ever experienced hip or leg pain the day after their injection? I don't have injection site pain, but my left hip and leg feel like I have a toothache in them today.

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I have not tried Enbril so can't answer your questions but, it is the weekend and it can be slow around her then so I wanted to let you know that the people here are the best and you will get some answers from people who know what they are talking about. Anyway, welcome to the forum and I hope the Enbril starts providing you with some relief soon.

I used Enbrel for a short time when I was mistakenly diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. I did not notice any side effects other than some injection site tenderness, but then everyone is different and reacts differently to medications. Read the insert that came with the medication to check for all possible side effects. Also if it doesn't get better you might want to discuss it with your doctor. I just found out I have Sjogrens and at this time am not on any meds as I am waiting to see my Rheumatologist to discuss treatment options. At the time I did not know I had Sjogrens but I did notice some joint pain relief and a reduction in pain. That was 4 years ago and my Sjogrens symptoms only started to worsen last year and thats when I went in to my doc. I am very interested in knowing if the Enbrel works for Sjogrens, the dry mouth and eyes and also the fatigue and gland swelling. I very much would appreciate it if you would update us with your reslults with using Enbrel. I hope you feel better and that the problem you are experiencing goes away and is not serious. I do not want to speculate as to what might be causing it as I am not a medical doctor but used Enbrel for about a 6 month period with no apparent side effects. Wishing you good luck and good health. :-)
