Hello, my doctor told me that it's likely that i have sjogren's syndrom and prescribed me two pills of 200 mg a day (that was about 5 months ago). I was told to take it with meals, but i wasn't told whether it matters in what time of the day i take it? should i take the two pills together or at separate times? (like one at morning and one at evening)
plus, should i actually take it? i don't think i feel any difference yet (taking it for about 5 months) and i heard that research is not able to say for sure whether plaquenil actually helps.

thanks

I know it takes Plaquenil quite a while to begin working. I had to stop taking it due to a relatively rare problem. Once it wore off - again, it takes a while - my fatigue and pain are much worse. I wish I could still take it. Have you talked with your doctor about how long it should take to work? Also, make certain to get regular eye exams, and tell the eye doctor you are taking Plaquenil. Good luck, hope you get relief soon.

Yes, you should take it. It helps by slowing disease progression, so you probably won't notice anything, what has already happened won't change. But if you stop taking it, things may change a lot! That's what has happened with several people here, they stop taking it and notice things start going poorly.

It doesn't matter so much when you take it, as long as it's at the same time every day. And yes, take both pills together at the same time. I would take it either in the morning or the evening, that's easier for me, but something else may make more sense with your schedule.

Get your eyes checked by your eye doctor before starting plaquernil...this is really important as plaq can effect the eyes and your doctor needs a baseline to go from or work with to mak sure your eyesight stays good...
This is important...its a precaution...other than that plaq might help you, so talk to your eye doctor then start this med to see if it can help you...
