First day of school was greeted with much anxiety, followed by one mild panic episode mid-morning....but I distracted myself from it and worked through it. All in all it went really well and I enjoyed it very much. I was able to chat on the phone with FBF a few times throughout the day which helped alot with the anxiety.( I knew I would be talking to him soon....his words of encouragement meant alot to me) It was a long day, but like I said I really enjoyed it and look forward to tomorrow.

thanks for your support!!

Dutchie, YOU MADE IT THROUGH!!!! It will now only get easier now. And how great that you saw the mild panic episode for what it was, and utilized great coping skills by distracting yourself to work through it. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the great work and utilizing those strategies.

How is FBF, any better on the meds yet? My thoughts to you both. LFW

Congratulations on making it through!  You should feel proud, and you handled the anxiety so well....I am jealous :-)    And good for FBF also...to talk you through and be that support that you needed.  (((((hugs)))))

Dutchie~~I am so proud of you!  And I am so happy for you too.  It must feel great to be back in school, on a new path.  I know you are going to do great and I'm so glad to hear that your first day went so well.

I've been thinking of you and wondering how you have been doing with your bipolar symptoms.  I am pretty much fed up with mine lately.  It just gets so hard to deal with sometimes that I want to quit trying to work so hard at it!  How has your anxiety been?  Have you tried the medication for anxiety yet?

Anyway, sending you hugs,

FBF,

I have been thinking about you too.  How are you feeling lately?  I know that you must be proud of Dutchie re: school.  My bf could relate to that.  He is so proud of me for that.  I've been wondering how you've been doing...if there has been any more discussion about depression with your counsellor, or how you are feeling about all of that now?  Don't mean to pry and if you don't feel like sharing, I completely understand.  I just want you to know that I am thinking of you, and my support is always here.

Take care, & many hugs to you as well.

Thanks you Mogs.

The depression comes and goes, more anxiety right now with the change of Dutchie going to school full time. I am taking my meds but not really enjoying it. I can't take them the same time every day as I would like because of my work/sleep schedule, I made the mistake of taking them while I was in the middle of one of my shifts and I felt like I couldn't concentrate on my job at all so now I take them when I am not at work, hopefully the side effects ease up so I can regulate it better.
Dutchie is doing well at school. I am very proud of her. We both miss the time we are used to having with each other, I am used to her always being here when I am home so the adjustment will take time.

I hope everything is going ok.

Hello everyone...it has been a while since we've communicated!
As you know I have started hairdressing school. I am really enjoying it and so far I am doing very well. Last week was a tough week, A lot of anxiety kicked in, and I felt the urge to cry an aweful lot. I really noticed it being difficult for FBF as well, which in turn I think raised my anxiety level. He has a bit of an odd work schedule where he has time off during the week (while everyone is working) and therefore has alot of free time on his hands. He doesn't really have any hobbies, so the days are long for him. When I talk to him on the phone I hear the boredom in his voice and I miss him and feel anxious for him. I am really missing our time together. Even though I am enjoying school, it has been hard having those feelings. He started on one med for depression, but it was really hard on his stomach, so the doc switched him to Salexa. If anyone has experience with this med we would love to hear back from you. So far he seems to be handling it much better but is dreaming alot at night which is waking him up and therefore he is a little more tired than usual....he has only been on this med for about one week now....is this just part of the "adjustment" period?
We still continue to see our councellor...last week my by myself and next week FBF on his own and then back as a couple again.
FBf is very supportive with school, but It is definitely a challenge balancing school and life all while making sure I keep any stress levels in check. Anyway this week seems a little better so far...FBf and I are meeting for a supper date tomorrow night which I am looking forward to, as well as having the weekend off together.
Any thoughts from anyone is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like the two of you are doing great. I am proud of you both! As to the time FBF is having on his hands...it is time to volunteer at the kids school, or start a home project, or start learning something new? All things you both have already thought of I am sure. But, the key is to get outside yourself and it does not need to be something all consuming, but something that perhaps he has never allowed himself before to have to time to explore. He'll feel more interesting, more stimulated, more engaged with himself and you and the family too. But it is his road to sort through. I am sending you both great thoughts!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS....LFW
