Carol,

Surprisingly, I don't think I had any side effects, I am taking Equetro (Extended Release) capsules. I do know that different makes/brands have different side effects. Also, everyone has a different chemical make-up which can make them react differently. Needless to say, I have not heard about the tongue thing, but I am not saying it is not possible. Oh, I have been taking it at 600 mg for about 6 months now.

I have some links about Tegretol that might be helpful, but I am not at my home Pc. I'll post them ASAP.

Hooray for good progress! Hang in there. I've never heard of numb tongue as a side effect of anything, but that's not surprising.

Hi Carolsclan,

Glad to hear you're not giving up! How have things been going for you now that you have been on the new med change for a few days longer? You last said you felt more in control and calmer. Does that still hold true?

Hope everything is going well for you.

Sukay Im feeling a lot better , Im just battling still to sleep properly so ill go back onto Rivotril for a bit , and although im calmer , i I now find I have to deal seriously with boredom .... I dont work eyes .... we live in a very remote area so going to work is problematic because of distance , so I need to deal with that , but im finding it easier to focus , so im giving myself a bit more time then its time to make decisions . I find that I can now make proper rational decisions which is fun :) before I would impulsivly do the first thing that came along nono

Improving my quality of life is starting to become important , stopping smoking , better eating, more excersise etc ....

I had to laugh at my Pdoc when he heard of my smoking habit .. he was horrifed and says "now i need medication " the stopping smoking tho I have to do under his supervison and only only once he is happy with me.

And of course I now have to learn who I am .. great fun at 46 ... its like starting a new life almost .
