Hello Yana,

No, I do not think that having BP should make you tired all the time. There have been times that I was tired to the point of exhaustion but that was because was not sleeping or I was sick. Or just really depressed.

It's funny how you asked this question, because I was feeling severely tired for about a month a few weeks ago, and I realized it was due to one of my meds. I have taken that same med for a while, but got a different brand of it this time around. But when I switched back to the previous brand, all was well.

If you are feeling really tired you should consider how long you have been feeling that way. Do your meds have anything to do with it? Have you been ill lately? Do you think you might be anemic? These are a few things to consider before seeing a doctor.

Also, being BP doesn't just naturally wreak havoc on your immune system, there must be other other factors involved. Not getting enough sleep definitely does though.

I hope this is somewhat helpful, and that you gain more energy soon.

Hi Yana,

Being tired all the time is a common symptom of depression, as Olivia pointed out, not of bp per se. If you're manic, you're probably not sleeping much at all. And to second Olivia's other theory, if depression weren't enough to make us tired all the time, many of the meds can. I don't know about my immune system, but I do know that a lack of sleep can make you vulnerable. (Oh. Olivia said that too. Nevermind. Just read Olivia's post. I'll say "ditto.")
