Thank you.  It is hard to just survive sometimes.  It is Sunday morning for me now and I am tired.  I didn't get enough sleep last night and I have to go to a friends to plan a Tupperware party later.  I hope I am not too tired to go.  I also hope that I can stay chipper.  It certainly is better than being down.

Hi Twisted,

OMG, A Tupperware party? I haven't heard of those in a long time! (I'm dating myself here)...I use to be a Tupperware Lady, back in the day! (1977)  :-)

You wouldn't believe some of the pieces I still have!!! I still have their Wonderlier Bowls, and Orange canister set!!!! Although instead of displaying them proudly on my counter, they are now hidden in my cabinets. I still have the cake taker, Jello Mold, condiment sets, etc.  Everything lasts soooo long!!!

Let me know how it goes. I'm interested on how they do things now. We use to play lots of games at the parties and guests would win Tupperware prizes.

LOL.  My mom used to have tupperware parties a lot.  I think she still had the canisters until recently.  I have given her a lot of stuff and she has ordered a lot of stuff.  We do have new canisters now though.  And some of the old stuff is coming back.  And of course we still play lots of games.  we even have a survivor theme, LOL.  We actually use the tupperware to cook and make things now.  But since I have moved to Qatar I haven't kept up with all the different types of parties.  This will be my first one in 3 years.  So wish me luck and I will definately let you know how it goes.

PS. If you are interested in a catalogue I could send you one online, LOL.

*Laughing* I love Tupperware! I don't have any, but it's so cute. My mom had a ton of it.

 twisted,

sorry i'm replying a day late and a dollar short.  i've been having lots of tests done and problems with my COPD, etc.  anyway, a lot of excuses (and, no, i don't accept excuses, either).

i'm glad you've been chipper!  it's a good way to be.  better than depressed and not as hard to keep up as "happy."

new subject:  did you get to quatar through England or the US?  I found it much easier to get to the middle east through British agencies.  Of course this was 20 yrs ago!

And how DID your tupperware party go?  FYI everyone:  i've seen old tupperware (like when I was a kid and dinosaurs walked amoungst us) go at antique auctions for very good prices.  so don't laugh at those off-looking containers.  you may be holding the key to your retirement (or your first born's first year in college -m maybe a night out at Red Lobster?) concealed in the back of those deep dark cupboards.

Hi Warren, excuses excuses. LOL. Sorry to hear you have been having a hard time of it, but I hope that things are getting better.

Now you are making me wish I had some of my moms old tupperware! Did you know TW is 75 years old? So yeah, I guess they would be antique pieces.

I have actually been in a down cycle since friday. I was really manic on thursday, the day of the party. It was almost severe, for me. It has been a long time since I was that manic. I had to prepare for the party and of course I didn't do any preparation the whole week so I had to do it all that day. I was up at 5:30 a.m. with about 5 hours of sleep. by the afternoon I was disorganized and frustrated but really really happy at the party itself which lasted about 5 hours. Since then I have just been going down. i think my allergies were bothering me the other day too. which doesn't help.

on a high note, my party sales so far stand at $2500. Plus we are waiting for the order of the daughter of the host. She has been on her honeymoon and just came back yesterday. her order is expected to be between $500 and $1000. Plus my order of at least $200. So by the time I put the orders in it could be from $3200 - $3500. That is the biggest party I have EVER had. The biggest I had in the states was around $900. So I get a big bonus for it and I will be manager for the next 4 months which means I get a percentage of the national sales (which isn't that much with so many managers but it's something extra). My host so far has $500 in FREE tupperware and 3 half off items. if it gets up to $3000 she will have $600 in free tupperware. I can't imagine have that much host credit! I should have hosted the darn party myself, LOL. Needless to say my manager and director were absolutely floored. They said that this party will put our team over the top for the month and possibly the best in the nation for May. The extra money I will get will definately help us out. but then again maybe I should save it for my 'spending sprees'. LOL

Dh is from here so if you mean through British agencies for work, then no. I came as wife, lol. We did have to fly through london though. not fun! Now of course they direct flights from NY. Where were you at here in the middle east? It is way different than it was 20 years ago. It is even a lot different than we first came in 93.

twisted,

(((((hugs)))))  i'm glad that your party was such a big success.  congratulations!   and then some!  you might have made as much as if you saved one of those 75-yr-old pieces and sold it at an antique auction.  and you never had to dust it, either!  :-)

i would suspect (and i don't think it takes a brain surgeon to guess this) that the party probably triggered your mania.  i know that it happens to me from time to time.  up before 6:00 AM?  you were swinging from the chandeliers!  lol  but it sounds as if you handled it like a trooper.

i actually never made it to the middle east.  i did a project for the Egyptians about 25 yrs ago and another one for the saudi's about 35 yrs ago.  i was offered to develop a data handling system for the egyptians sometime around that period, but decided to do a stint in computer security instead.  then i was hired to finish implementation of a landsat operation in saudi arabia and, when i was honest enough to use the code "have the saudi's changed their personnel policy?"  this is a way of saying that the applicant is Jewish and will the host country allow that person in especially as a high ranking manager. my employer failed to grasp the full implications of my statement.  so they had me do the data handling systems for the space station instead.  would love to visit egypt, particularly.  made some good friends when i was developing that system for them yrs ago.  never happen now.  oh well.  life goes on.  smurf

once again, i'm SO pleased with your party winnings.  take care of yourself.  that world can turn on a dime.

Thanks Warren. I am actually up before 6:00 everyday. school and work start at 7 around here. but usually I try to take a nap somtime during the day. I didn't have time to do that last thursday. and yeah the party probably triggered it. I have to pick up all the payments today and pay for the party. and go grocery shopping and do other things today so I will be pretty busy. But it's better than staying at bored all day.

I talked to my regional director last night and told her that was the best party I have ever had and she said it was better than any she has ever had and she is good at selling tupperware. She said it's gotta be some kind of record. Anyway, they were real happy!

You never know, you may still get to visit Egypt yet.
