confused  I am 44 yrs. old and just Dx with Bipolar 6 weeks ago.  I guess the hardest thing has been I have seen so many Dr. and no one picked up on it till now.  My husband and son have both suffered in the past 7 years.  I don't really know how long I have been this way but I do know a long time.  I have made our family in a financial crisis and am very sorry.  I am on two medications that seem to be working.  I can not work because of the tremors.  I feel like everyone looks at me when I shake so I don't get out very often.  It has made me be alone most of the days.  I can't wait for summer.  My son will be out of school and we can spend time with each other.
yeah  My husband and son are very supportive.  They have always been there for me even though it has been very difficult for many years.  God has helped us survive.

Hi ysolong,
Welcome to HealingWell and to our forum.  I hope you find some community and some support here.  I'm sorry you lived so long without a proper diagnosis, but that is extremely common.  I have heard the average gap between the onset of symptoms and diagnosis is anywhere from 7 to 12 years.  It's a hard condition to diagnose.  It's good that you have some medication now and are feeling a little better.
You are close with your husband and son then? Excellent.  You are a lucky woman.  Not everyone's family is so supportive.  I hope it helps you from feeling to lonely.  As you implied in your post, it's not the sort of thing we can talk about with just anyone, so it can get kind of lonely.  I hope you meet some nice people here.

Hi and welcome to the board. I too was diagnosed recently and I have also lived it with for a long time before being diagnosed. My family husband and kids suffered also. Thankfully as you said, God helped us survive it. Otherwise I don't know how dh has stayed with me for so long. As far as finances, I have caused a lot financial problems and crisis also. It is definately something I feel guilty about. But know that you are among friends here and with us, you won't be alone.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it!
