hi

iv been diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder but iv been on 4 different tablets now and still no better one minute im fine and the next im soooo angry im taking it out on my bf all the time and i get really jellouse about things so bad that i obsess over it for days and go on at him i have a major physical appearence problem i cant get outta the house and my mood swings are terrible i had a shopping addiction online and blew up the credit card twice and its cause problems with me and bf as well
the tablets that iv tried are Aropax,Luvox and am now on efexor-xr 150mg's...im so confused about things i dont even know if there working or not im wondering if i have bipolar i know its hard for docters to diagnose beacause iv been told its alot like depression? i need some advice whats wrong with me i feel like im never gonna get better at all!!!

Hi Missyc,

Welcome to HealingWell. I hope you can find some answers here. It sounds like you're having a terrible time with the mood swings and your meds aren't really helping. You've got to be bold and let the doctor know as soon as you can. Bipolar is only partly like depression -- when one is depressed. The other half of bipolar -- mania -- is nothing like depression. However, you mentioned you've been diagnosed with anxiety disorder and sometimes that jerky, anxious, angry energy is a kind of mania called hypomania and so you might ask your doctor to evaluate you for bipolar II. As I told warped reality, anti-depressants can actually make mania worse, so if you're feeling anxious and you feel like it's just getting worse, that might be a sign for your doctor. Bottom line, call your doctor. Tell him your worry outright and let him evaluate you for bipolar. It's better than wondering.
