Hello friends!

I usually post in the Anxiety / Panic boards, but I'm new to this area of the site. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I just started taking depakote about a month ago and things are going relatively well. I really crave carbs, but i managed to lose a little bit of weight. I'll keep everyone posted on the weight gain thing or hair loss thing, as those are both really hard to deal with.

Have a great night_

Hi Dan,

Welcome to our board! The A/P boards are pretty cozy; I hope we can live up to them. :-) Jump right in wherever you feel comfortable, we're glad you're here.

Hi Dan,

You're always welcomed here. I have bi-polar, anxiety, arthritis & crohns disease. I bounce around quite a few of the boards here.

I was on depakote and it worked really well for me. I understand about the cravings and weight gain. I had gained a little more weight that I was happy with and asked to be put on something else. It took a very long time and I almost considered going back on it just to have some type of stability in my life. Thankfully I finally was able to adapt to another drug.

Hope you continue to do well on it. Not everyone experiences the weight gain.
