Hey all. Hope all is well with you. I have been doing alright except I had another migraine on Tuesday. Of course, that is depressing in itself. I haven't had any mania though. I was hung over on Wed. but took my baby to the library for reading time anyway and then spent time with my mom. Yesterday we went and visited a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in a while. It was nice. Today my sister and niece are coming for a visit with us and my parents. The last time they came I was so depressed that we didn't see them. I feel kinda down today too but I wonder if it is just that I am tired from two days of running around. I am really not looking forward to seeing them because my niece is a wild child. She is five and my sister lets her do whatever and that gives me an anxiety attack everytime. She is very hyper and loud; I know she is just a child but some discipline and manners would go a long way. Anyway, I know I can't dodge them today and am trying to cope but I just want to be alone today. Is that bad?

Well, my baby is awake. Gotta go. Have a good day.

No, it's not bad. We all have relatives we'd rather avoid, including children. I'm sorry to hear you're having a busy, achy week. I hope today goes okay. Let us know how it goes.

Well, I survived today barely. My niece will be 6 in July and she is the only child. She kept taking toys away from my 10 month old and I was the only one correcting her about it. It really got on my nerves. She has been the only grandchild for five years with this side of the family so she is use to being the center of attention but she is still spoiled rotten. My sister lets her do anything, say anything, etc. She never disciplines her so she still screams at the top of her lungs when she notices that no one is noticing her. I was frazzled by the end of just 2 hours. If I could have stayed home alone with my baby today, I would have been just fine and dandy. I love my family, don't get me wrong. It is just when you already feel depressed, it is hard to handle situations like that.

Hope everyone else had a good day. Thanks for listening.

Hi Missflip,

There is no reason to feel bad. Your putting more stress on yourself for feeling guilty. Hey we all need to do what it takes to keep ourselves well. You have been quite busy the last few days and drained. So you needed some time to regroup! But instead you put yourself through an even more stressful situation. Learn from this.

When you need a time out, take one. It means everything to your well being and your daughter. Next time if you're not up to putting yourself through that there is nothing wrong with telling people you really need some time to yourself right now. If they don't understand that, it's there problem. You need to do what you need to do to stay healthy.

I'm outspoken when it comes to situations like that and would have no problem drawing attention to the situation and telling my sister that her child is acting inappropriately and that she needs to tend to the matter. Otherwise I would say, "you need to keep your daughter away from my baby because she isn't being very nice to her right now and keeps taking all of her toys from her.

Get some rest. I hope you feel better soon.
