I'm big into music. I find myself listening to certain songs when I'm way up there and other songs when I'm in a funk.

Right now I'm listening to Second Hand News by Lindsey Buckingham or maybe he was still with Fleetwood Mac when he did that one. It's perking me up a little.

Leonard Cohen will put me in a serious funk but there is something compelling about his voice.

Ok, double don't laugh. My favorites are King of the Road, El Paso, and Prince of Denmarks March. Ain't that a combo.

Is highjacking bad?

Well, if it is a thread I started all have permission to hijack. I can't keep on track for more than 3 minutes anyhow so the variety is welcome.

OK I was wondering what that guys name was that had the TV show with the bouncing ball we would sing along with. Was it Mitch Miller?

I love the Eagles! They're going to be in Tulsa in Sept. I think I'll go.

I like the eagles but I also like in the movie the Big Lebowski where the dude says "I effing hate the eagles".

I'm sorta ambivalent.

Well I kind of resemble Brad Pitt

Just imagine Brad with a nose that has been broken many times, a paunch, going bald, and you wouldn't be able to tell us apart.

When I'm down I always turn to John Mayer's In Repair, although it's a slow song that seems sad, if you really listen to the lyrics it's pretty uplifting...at least for me

hmm...one song that I play alot when in a funk because I can relate to it so much...Grey Street by Dave Matthews Band.

metallica's black album is a good one too for funks...especially unforgiven, nothing else matters, my friend of misery

to get out of a funk or when I'm manic...something that you can dance too or that has a good beat (is that the same thing? lol)

lately...Katy Perry's new song...I kissed a girl. obviously can't relate to it, but it's darn catchy! Britney Spears' latest album blackout...now that I know she's crazy too I feel for the girl.

I have so many more...too many to chose from. I may have to update my list later!

Oh I completely agree on the Britney thing!!! The new album has been my manic cd of choice for quite a while, then when I started realizing that Brit was in a similar head space as me the love of the album made perfect sense!!! Crazy people making music for other crazy people...I'm kidding, kinda =) I love that Katy Perry song too!! You just can't stay down when you hear it.

LOL! "crazy people making music for other crazy people" oh my lol! this is going to sound bad, but even the critics agreed that blackout was one of her best albums to date...I hope she doesn't lose her touch now that she seems to be getting more stable. not that I'd want her to be unstable...I hope you guys know what I mean lol...I'm tired, it's late. sue me.

HALLELUJA ...

Ohhhhh ....

Jason Castro did it on American Idol. I could listen to it all day. There are many singers who do it.

I like Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes

by Paul Simon

These are by no means the end of my list. I love music.
I wonder: Why do people usually like music less as they get older??

Some of my favorite artists are Dave Matthews Band, Train, Matchbox Twenty, Evan's Blue.

But the song I like the best when I am down is Granny by DMB.  I also like to listen to Unwell by Matchbox Twenty too.  These two keep my grounded.

An old one that I like is the Pina Colada song by that Rupert guy.

It was interesting reading all of your responses. Really neat how different we all are but yet similar.

That's what I love about this board is that we can call each other "crazy" and no one gets offended. Some of the other boards were so snooty about it, it was almost more depressing.

When I'm down = "Love Hurts" by REM

When I'm manic = "Welcome to the jungle" by Guns N Roses

When I'm at my best = Can't think of one particular song but I'll listen to a variety of music; Classic rock, Old School Motown, and Standards like, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennet, Glenn Miller Band and oh I like Natile Merchant and Pearl Jam too.
