Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum as I was only diagnosed last week after 15 years of the doctors trying so many different diagnoses (typical docs).
Anyhow they have prescrbed me Seroquel (25mg 3 times per day), they make me tired which I expected but the pas few days I have noticed that by lunch time the whites of my eyes are quite yellowish, and I get very pale but then by dinner time this has gone.
It is a bit worrying because of course I'm suspecting everything is wrong with me even though I got a check up last week.
Anybdy any Ideas?

Cheers

Hi oceanic,

Welcome to the forum and to HealingWell. The yellowish eyes is new to me, but maybe another member will have experience with that. How are you feeling aside from the eyes and the tiredness? Have you noticed any shifts in your moods? Finding out you're bipolar can be quite difficult. How are you taking that?

best,

Thanks Serafena,

I'm not too bad at finding out to be honest I'm just glad the docs got down to the bottom of the problem, I'm also on anti-sickness tablets/thiamine hyrdachloride and anti-biotics so that could possibly be the reason becase i has only started since I started them all...I also started acupuncture (in my ear lobes for stress/anxiety once a week) and they attach this stress ball (as they like to call it) to the back of my ear so if I get really anxious/stressed I press it and it's supposed to calm me down, weather it works I don't know yet.

I haven't really noticed any change in my moods(still shout at partner for stupidist things, then feel bad and get him a prezzie) then I'm fine for a day then anxious then down and stay in bed.. all the usual, but I guess I need to give it time.

I was just a bit concerned but maybe it's early days yet, but yes if any other members has experienced this please let me know.

Many Thanks

:-)

Hi Oceanic,

Welcome to HealingWell. My sister switched from abilify to seroquel. she has lost 17 pounds, it was gradual, but it was. Though she also just found out that she was diabetic and has had to change her diet too. So that might be a part of it, not sure. But she really likes the new med.

It takes time to get your moods under control. I know, it took me a long time and a lot of work. So don't get upset if you slip up here and there.

I sure do wish you the best, let us know how things go.

Best wishes for a wonderful day,
hugs, Karen

Hi Rain,

Seroquel is supposed to make you sleepy. Did you just start it? The excessive sleepyness is supposed to go away in a week or so. If it doesn't -- let your doc know and maybe he/she will lower the dose a bit.
