Hi Ruth,

Have you had a blood test recently? It sounds like a lot, but it could be the amount your body needs to be at an optimal level.

Ruth,

The therapeutic level from lithium ranges from person to person. When I was on it the highest I have ever been on is 1200mg. 1500mg is a little high, but that might be the right dose for you, the only way to find out that it is not harming you would be to get your blood level done. The numbers should range from .8 to 1.2. Please let us know how things turn out.

Are you having side effects from the Lithium, if not I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Especially if your blood level was normal. Each person is different, I couldn't handle more than 900mg a/day but some people take up to 1800mg/day. You should bring up your concern with your pdoc if you are nervous about your dosing.

I don't know the dosage range..but if it is not giving you side effects..especially weight gain or feeling out of it..I would use it.
It has been around a long time.
