Well, is it a psychiatrist? If so, just mention the mood swings and ask if there's a way to mange them. If it's a Primary Care Physician, mine wasn't willing to deal with the depression, BiPolar issue and sent a referral to a psychiatrist. The whole BiPolar issue is complex. Some antidepressants do more damage than good. That's why it's best to see a shrink.

Hypothyroidism, Fibromyalgia, Facet Joint Syndrome, High Blood Pressure, menopause, Migraines, Chest Pain, Anxiety and Depression/BiPolar II
Synthyroid .075mg., estradiol.5 mgs., Amyltriptilene, 100mgs, bedtime, Tylenol 3 PRN (six-eight, daily), Valium 7.5mgs. daily prn. Flexeril, prn (not so helpful), Zoloft,150mgs., Zomig approx. 12 per month, prn., Meds for High Blood Pressure, vary.

its to a pdoc, im currently on 15mg Zyprexa and 10 mg Celexa. I still have the racing thoughts and feel a little fast. Had a mixed episode two days ago which lasted about an hour, I had to take 5mg extra Zyprexa just to calm down. I was thinking of adding a mood stabilizer or another antipsychotic to the mix. I just need to shut out the head noise, as it is occupying most of my day. I need to constantly be reading stuff so the noise wont bother me. hope i made sense.

Tell your pdoc your feelings.  I don't see how it can hurt.  My antipsychotic helped quiet my mind down drastically.

I agree. I think the best thing to do is be honest with your doctor. Simply tell him/her what symptom is bothering you, and ask them if they think a mood stabilizer or more anti-psychotics would help? Any doc worth their salt will respond and tell you why. If they get huffy, they're not very professional.
