I hae a bipolar 7 year old and can not seem to get him in control. He doesn't sleep he only does what he wants to do and doesn't matter what anyone else tells him. He is well aware of th cosicuinces of his actions when he does them but that doesn't matter. We have tried everything from grounding, cornner, spanking and everyhthing else we can think of. My wife is also bipolar rapid cyling and we think that my son my be a little slower cycling the she is but we are not sure yet. He has been on severl different drugs for ADHD and is about to start a mood stabilizer is there any ideas on how to handle him in the mean time. Please help

We need Loving Frustrated Wife for this question... She has a bipolar child as well.

I don't have a clear answer for you, impsituation, I'm sorry. I just don't have any experience or knowledge in this area. But I do know there are several books out there which speak to the subject. You might find a trip to your local bookstore offers you a little relief and some new ideas.

You could read "The Bipolar Child" by Dr. Wes Burgess.
