My question...When I was younger 13/14 I was diagnosed with ADD and put on medication.  I took the medication for a short period of time...Now I am 36 years old and I am feeling that there is a chance I do suffer from ADD.  I remember back when I was diagnosed I didn't want to believe that I was sick or there was something wrong with me so I stopped taking the medication.  But during the time that I did take it my grades went form C's to A's.  I was much more task oriented and things we getting accomplished.  Now I am a fairly successful person but I really do have a hard time staying forcused and on task...It has been a struggle for me...What do you recomened me doing?  should I see someone? Are there new medications out that have little side effects?  I don't want to change who I am I just want to be more focused...  Thanks for your time...I live in Orange County CA and would take any recommendation of a good Dr.

Hi keithM,

Welcome to HealingWell. Unfortunately this is a bipolar forum. Certainly ADD occurs often enough in people with bipolar, but it's not our specialty around here. I would definitely second your thoughts about seeing a doctor. We can't recommend or pan specific docs on the forum. Your first stop should be your insurance listing.

Good luck,
