I don't have too many plans for this weekend either, except to go to a couple of my daughter's events. It is so hard for me to get out due to both my anxiety and bipolar. I never know how I'm going to be. I feel guilty canceling all the time, but I don't know what else to do. My meds are not at their therapeutic level yet, but I see my new dr. on Monday, which also makes me nervous (getting out and all). By the way my grandparents live in Az. and they told me the same thing about the weather, they are going to be staying in, but at least they have each other, even if they can drive each other crazy! It would be so hard to be a widow - best of luck to you. Jill

Hi guys,

If I had more time tonight I could have invited you both to an open chat, but I'm just getting ready to walk out the door.  I just wanted to check in really quick.

You know...  You can enter a chat any time you want to.  Just click on the "chat button located on top of the screen and pick which room you'd like to enter.  Some one always shows up and you may also want to post a notice in the bipolar forum that you will be in there in case anyone else wishes to join you.

Just remember it will be an unscheduled chat and there will be no moderator avaliable, but it doesn't mean that people can't try to hook up.  Like I said...someone always does show up.

It may help the time to pass by a little quicker for you.

Hope this helps.

Wishing you both better days.

I'll check up on how you two are feeling later tomorrow.

It is hovering around 110 here this week so I have not been outside too much, except to swim. But my 2 younger ones keep me busy. My oldest just got her license so she is off galavanting.

This heat is draining and terrible. Best to stay inside and keep on all air conditioners. We just got back from San Diego and I was spoiled for 4 days with highs in the 80's and a nice coastal breeze.

Do you have any projects you can do? For example I scrapbook, and am way behind. This week I am going to try and get back into it.

Hi everyone,

I'm lucky. I'm in St. Louis where we're having a record low of 71. I'm sorry you're feeling lonely. You're never alone here. (((Hugs))) What are your plans for the rest of the month?

Caren, Sorry I wasn't online to send you a note. Seems like very few members have been around. I hope you are doing better this week. Wish I could send you a cool little breeze from Minnesota.

My M-I-L is also a widow. My F-I-L died when they were only in their 50s. She ended up making a lot of new friends from a loss support group. Mostly widows or women left by their husbands. She has remained close to a number of these women for the last 20 years.

If you find yourself alone often, you might find that a support group is a great way to make friends.

Caren,
Glad to hear that you are feeling better. It's 70 degrees where I am and I'd be more than happy to take 20 degrees from you!

I think the suggestion of joining a widow support group is a good idea. It could be a good way to meet new people who are in a similar situation. Even if you don't go outside, you would at least have someone to chat with on the phone or internet.

Take care and feel better!

Sending you cool breezes!
