I have been visiting this forum for a couple of years. Friday I was diagnosed with BPI. My md had been treating me for anxiety, have been on meds that were making me worse. I have suspected for a while that there was more going on than just anxiety. Old PDoc had "hinted" that I "may" be bipolar, but new PDoc, very aggressive, says without a doubt. I was a little stunned, but yet it was a relief as well. Started me on a new med called Saphris, going to add Lamictal in three weeks. Well, now I have the task in front of me of making lifestyle changes and hoping I will feel better soon.

Has anyone tried Saphris? I am already sleeping better. Knowledge is such a liberating tool!

Saphris is brand-spanking new. You are the first person I've heard of who's on it. I'm really interested to hear how you do on it. Thanks for joining the board. We are so glad to have you.

It is brand spanking new and you know what?  I have only been on it since Friday and I have had no side effects, I had lots of bad side effects to old mood stabilizers right off the bat, I am already sleeping better and feeling more stable.  It dissolves under your tongue, so your mouth taste funny for about 20 minutes and you feel slightly dizzy for 30 minutes, that is it.  I am keeping my fingers crossed, I did not realize what a bad frame of mind I had been in for quiet awhile until I started feeling better.  Will keep you posted!  Thanks for the reply.
