My surgeon for my colectomy was Dr. Wexner from Cleveland Clinic Florida, and now he is going to do my ileostomy surgery, hopefully in June.  He called me this morning and talked with me about the risks of my surgery in June.  He is very kind, and does not pull any punches.  He told me that it's going to be a very complex and critical surgery, and that my surgeon at home did the best that he could do for me this past May and June with my leg bag.  We have to be as certain as can be that my small intestines have healed, before surgery in June, or I could have to live this way or worse for the rest of my life.
It is alot for me to digest and I don't really talk about it, except for this message board, my husband, and my counselor.  My tube was obstructed with hamburger from spaghetti, for the past 3 days.  My husband did his best to flush it out, and it kept getting worse before better.  We were both nervous wrecks.
I have been withdrawing alot lately and just want to leave everything, but read a novel in a chair, alone and quiet.  I'm working part-time again, through January 19th.  It's been a long tough road, and I'm afraid of obstructions every day and am even more afraid of surgery in June.

Good luck, butterfly. I'm sorry you've been struggling along, and this is tough news, but you'll get through this. Hang in there.
