(((hug)))

I have experienced this when in a mixed state.  It's one of the worst things, IMO.  I didn't have support or meds then, so I hope that I don't have it again.

I'm sorry I don't have any real help for you.  :(

Hi Bohemian,

Welcome to healingwell and to the bipolar board. When I get hypomanic I get sensitive to noises too, but nothing like you describe. Mostly I just find it impossible to concentrate when music is playing or people are talking. I cannot filter sound at all.

I did a little looking around and hypersensitivity to sound is a medical condition. Have you ever talked to an audiologist about it? Been tested for hyperacusis or any structural problems with your ears?

Hi bohemian,

the whole hypersensitivity was another reason I ended up getting tested for lyme. I am bipolar my whole life and medication
has always been so difficult also. then I found out it was the lyme so I'm still tying to find another med. so many different opinions.

Dad has lyme
